Alicia Buni on SoundBetter

My joys and accomplishments are the countless jobs I have done with/for people on a personal level. Music for them, that can not be quantified in terms of sales but their appreciation shown. Not having large commercial projects has helped me hone my skills in creating for individuals and handling different creative processes.

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: 3 year professionally

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: Uncertain, Ever-evolving and Different

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: Gallant, I enjoy his Collab projects and would love to see what he would do with my voice. He is a great artist

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: Afropop, Pop, RnB, Rap, Christian and I also work on music in different languages. Didn't know I would be learning French, Spanish and Hebrew but I have worked on a few projects of those languages. I also do African Languages, such as Igbo, Swahili, Hausa and Yoruba.

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: The cadence of my voice is a little different. The lyrics I write, whether for rap or vocals come from a unique point of view, often warped but still relatable.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: Depends on the work truly. If it is songwriting, I normally listen to the track a couple of times to understand the lyric structure that would work best. I write the lyrics with the beat count or melody I recorded while listening to the track. The subject of the lyrics is often given by the client (i.e. Love, Forgiveness), something general so I craft a story to portray that and write the lyrics with the story in mind.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: Simple setup with a few Audio boxes, Microphones, both a PC and Mac, 2 Monitoring headsets and speakes, Midi Keyboard for background track work, Acoustic Padding for cleaner sound, and 4 professional DAW (Studio One, Cakewalk, Reaper & Cubase)

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: Dua lipa, Asa, Whitney(of course)

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: Songwriting and Vocals
