Interview with Corner Store Studios
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: One of our co-owners has his own profile, check him out to learn more: Josh Liebman.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, baby!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We promise to give it our all, and we are sure we can prove our all is pretty damn good.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: We love working with new music and with new people every day—we are constantly being challenged and inspired.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That what we do can be done *properly* for cheap.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's your favorite movie?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let's chat. The only way to know if we're right for you is to get to know us (we think we're pretty rad).
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Like an old-school production team who learned how to work modern gear.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Take your time and experiment. Too often do great ideas get overlooked because someone is too afraid to waste time or mess up—sometimes those experiments (and even the mess-ups)can completely change a record.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: We work mostly with indie rock artists who often blur the boundaries between traditional genres. Our team is also highly trained in Jazz, RnB and much more.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Our space focuses on the production and mixing side of the industry. We have a range of monitoring options, incredible plugins from Elysia, UAD and more! And we are constantly upgrading our hardware.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: We are inspired every day by the incredible Brooklyn studio scene and the talent that surrounds us.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: We work on large scale projects, from the pre-production stages, all the way through mastering. We also do a lot of mixing work for independent artists
