I've got power and range! Sultry Alto to Screaming Soprano. Credits include: Disney, Universal Studios, Clear Channel Communications.
I am a pro studio session singer, and live performance vocalist. I've fronted cover bands, recorded hundreds of jingles, trained classically, and make a living belting my guts out. I have an extremely large vocal range, and sing harmonies naturally. Styles range from light jazz to Rock and Gospel. I'm easy to work with, and have a cooperative attitude. Did I say I was loud?
I have a Bachelor of Music in Voice from the University of Illinois and have a minor in keys as well. I have been a professional performing musician for over 25 years. I have done it all from radio jingles to huge stadium performances to studio albums. I am amazing with harmonies and love to craft background vocals that add depth, dimension and deep emotion to songs! Let's make something amazing together!

easy going with a super powerful voice, some vocalists I used in the past, you listen to their demos, then you listen to them on your own tracks and they somehow sound not quite as good, maybe its my ears, but Shannon is consistent and she sounds like her profile each and every-time . Thats why the next song will be track 13 with her!

The work with Shannon was a pleasure. Professional approach from the very beggining. Shannon is very accommodating and communication, feedbacks and everything was faster than the speed of light and vocals and melody of singing were exactly how I imagined. I recommend her for collab of course. Thank you Shannon.

Well I don't do covers all that often as I am usually not happy with them..anyway this one it was fun which is what music should always be about...Shannon was awesome on the vocals and keys and a big mother of a hug to her husband who did the bass and drums..I have a big fat grin on my face !

It was something just incredible when working with Shannon!! Not only did she go the full distance in delivering what was needed, she went far beyond the extra mile on this task, even adding her daughter to record some fabulous harmonies that really spiced up the vocal stack! With great communication throughout the project time and high quality recordings delivered, Shannon did some amazing work which I sincerely appreciated. Don't hesitate to select Shannon.... 100% most highly recommended!!

AMAZING work from both Shannon AND her husband Sammy, who is also here on SB. Incredibly talented and intuitive, musical duo. They built upon my ideas in a way that brought so much life to our track! Looking forward to working with them again, and cannot recommend them enough!

This was my second project working with Shannon and once again she knocked the ball out of the park. Shannon is so gifted with such a beautiful voice that can definitely deliver power anywhere on the scale. If you're looking to add dynamics and passion to your lyric message you totally need to give Shannon a shot.
Interview with Shannon Pawlak
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am working on a project with my husband that is all our own original songs. When we write my role is always to help with the difficult lyric lines that we don't like in the song and to find words that fit. I also usually write the power bridges or refrains that we add to songs. We have been writing together for over 25 years and it's a beautiful match!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I just finished a live performance video and sizzle reel for a live theater show that I am in. It's a 70's tribute show. I am always working on any number or national radio jingles at any given moment.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: My husband, Sammy Pawlak, is the best male vocalist I know. He has range for days, style, a sexy huskiness to his voice that gives his sound such depth and soul. He is my favorite singer in the world!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog for warmth and digital for convenience! Do I have to choose?
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: They will love their song when we are done! Period! And they will love working with me.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I just love music. I love everything about it! I love working with others to create something that they are excited about. I especially love their reaction when they hear me do something with their song that they never thought of and love it! So fun!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: A lot of my customers aren't exactly sure what they want when they bring me a song. They will say, "Can you do something like this....?" I pride myself in reading between the lines and being able to quickly ascertain what they want and deliver it.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People don't realize that I actually can support myself as a full time musician.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Name an artist that you want me to sound like. I will listen to them to work at capturing their sound for you!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who doesn't have an over produced track. A great singer should not need Auto Tune and huge reverb to sound great. Their raw tracks should sound amazing!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I can't possibly choose, I need it all! But for sure my keyboard, self contained sound system, my Neuman mic and iPad!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started as a teenage choir junkie, then to University of Illinois Music graduate and onto work in gospel and live music entertainment. I have been doing this for over 25 years. You name it, I've done it!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Passionate and soulful.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Billy Joel or Paul McCartney. I am absolutely taken by people who can play and write like they do and whose music spans generations.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Have a great attitude! When I am being paid to create for someone, it's their project and I am never put off or bothered by changes. I take a note very well!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on all types of music. I do a lot of gospel, rock, and a lot of my live performing is a cappella.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Power and super high belt with impeccable intonation. Did I say I was loud?
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I can bring style, emotion and power to any style I am covering.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I live with a new recording for about a day to take in the message, feel and vocal line. Then lay down my tracks, always leaving enough time to be able to go back and do fixes and fine tuning. It is my desire to give my client EXACTLY what they are wanting. I work super fast!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run ProTools, Avalon Preamps, Neumann and Shure mics, analog and digital processors, 5 guitars, 2 bass guitars, Kohler & Campbell Upright Grand, 2 Korg Keyboards, isolated vocal and drum booths, full mic'd kit, and my husband is a top studio session rock singer and my daughters are industry pros in the house as well! We can produce it all!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Living in Orlando I a know a ton of absolutely amazing local musicians. Watching them create unique and out of the box music and make a living at what they do feeds my soul!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do high belt rock and soulful lead vocal projects for people including back up vocals. I also do a huge amount of national radio jingles where I layer thick harmonies with a lush sound.
