Need a polished record? Need It mixed and mastered? This is a one-stop shop for turning your ideas into a reality without ever having to sacrifice your artistic integrity! When you're working with Gingerbread, it's all about the music!
Barry Cohen, professionally known as Gingerbread, is the new wave. A Miami native, he grew up listening to many different types of global music styles such as afrobeat and bossa nova, which has influenced his approach to production.
In 2018, the Florida-born, 21-year old producer, writer, musician and engineer graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Production and Engineering.
After graduation he moved to Los Angeles, and is already making an impact.
2019 brought his first placement with BMG and Spinnin’ Records with Sean Kingston and the Afro Bros.’ for their vibey island collaboration titled “How Many Times.” He followed this with an official remix to Atlantic Records’ Kiiara’s catchy summer smash “Open My Mouth.” He’s since been in the studio working with artists, writers, and producers such as Quinn XCII, 24Hrs, Stephen Puth, Plvtinum, Cook Classics, and James Royo.
In November 2019 he signed a production deal with multi-platinum producer Cook Classics (Ava Max “Sweet but Psycho” and Panic at the Disco “High Hopes”).
Since signing, Gingerbread has placed multiple records such as “Watching You Walk Away” by Stephen Puth, “Come Together” by Now United, “Speak Up” by Miquela, “Stranger in the Mirror” by 24Hrs, and a few single releases on Monstercat.

Interview with Gingerbread
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently working with many talented artists such as Sean Kingston, Emilia Ali, PLVTINUM, and various artists under "Konvict Kulture." Also working with a multitude of writers at APG and Sony Music.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Jack Newsome is one of the most talented writers I have had the pleasure of working with!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: I promise that at the end of the day, I will bring your ideas to life, and you will be proud of the product that you have invested in. Whether I solely produce, or also mix and master your record, it will be competitive with the records that are working on the radio and the spotify charts.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it comes easy... Even for me, who has been making music for as long as I can remember, I pour our blood, sweat, and tears into every record I work on. I am constantly learning from the artist and myself from the birth of a record, to the release.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My records make people want to dance, and sing along to. My goal is to have the audience singing along to the melody before the song ends the first time they hear the record. At first, they may seems simple on the outside, but my attention to detail and subtlety makes listeners want to come back for more!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: It's all about the feel. You've heard it a million times, but its the truest thing in the world. If the feel of the record isn't all the way right, then it's all the way wrong.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: In most cases, I like to act as a one-stop shop for our clients. I love bringing an idea to life with my production style and experience, and seeing it through to the end with my mixing, and mastering skills. Though I am always open to work with other teams as well!
