Always bringing a fresh take to a song or track.
Hey, I'm Josh! I'm a topliner, songwriter, vocalist and multi instrumentalist, music producer, beat producer, recording, and mastering engineer based in Los Angeles writing songs for artists/producers. I can write a song for you from the ground up, topline your tracks or just track the vocals!
I am in Los Angeles most of the time but work in both Florida and Nebraska as well, writing and producing for other artists.
Specialties
Songwriting - lyrics and melody over an acoustic track to demonstrate an idea
Topline Writing - lyrics and melody demo over instrumental/beat provided by producer
Vocals - recorded in a studio if the client wants to use my voice on the final product
OR any combination/variation of the above!
I also produce beats, edit, tune and mix vocals.
No Revision Fees
I like to work in close contact with the client going back and forth over the ideas until the completion date in order to achieve a result that everyone can say they are happy with.

A: What do you want people to feel while listening to this song? What kind of energy level is this song?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It's really helpful if you give as much information about what you're looking for from the song as possible. E.g. if there is a certain artist or song you want the track to sound like or a certain vibe you are looking for then please provide as many reference points as you can. It's always better to write from the outset knowing exactly what the client is hoping the end product will sound like.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocals, Topline
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: On receiving an instrumental track (or a beat) from a producer, I usually import it into Studio One or Logic and get in front of the mic and test different melodies to try and find the strongest melodic hook for the song. Quite often I will have thought of a lyrical concept I want to explore before hand and this will influence the style of melodies and phrasing that I employ into the topline. I am used to, and often prefer if an artist or producer has a lyrical concept they want to incorporate into the song and then I build the song around this idea. Once I have a strong idea for the first section of the song i.e. intro, verse, pre, chorus, post, I record making sure each section fits and makes sense (both in terms of rhythm and melody and lyrically) and then send this idea back to the producer or artist. Based on the feedback for the initial idea, if the client is pleased with the initial idea I will continue the idea or revise if needs be.
