Interview with Uberphat
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Doing what I love every day. Listening to amazing new music. Having the freedom to work from home.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long have you been doing this? 20+ Years. Can you make it sound clean and loud? Of course. What's your favorite color? Green.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: How loud do you want the master to be? Would you like an encoded 320kbps MP3? Do you need an NDA?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Survival gear. Knife, Flint & Tinder, Water Purifier, Seeds, First-Aid / Antibiotics.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Innovative Modern Electronic Bass Music.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: EDM: Future Music, House, Trance, Techno, Dubstep, Trap, Hardstyle, Breaks, Chillout.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: You send me the parts, pre-master, or render. I do magic and send back to you for review. Once you reply, I adjust as needed and re-send for confirmation. Rinse and repeat.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My first big break out track was a collaborative effort between several artists. I spearheaded the project which successfully garnished top ten exposure and was played by a DJ Mag's Top 10 DJ on his own radio show.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Answering this interview.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: BOTH!!! I use genuine Analog Emulation Software religiously to get that glue, warmth, and sparkle. I work exclusively in-the-box to deliver the best sounding result possible. That means using the digital domain headroom and quality to deliver the cleanest result. While the Analog emulated plugins give that sheen and warmth that classic records evoke. Bringing together the best of both worlds is how I achieve platinum quality results.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: 100% Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That anyone can do it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you state clearly and directly what you desire as the final product.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Computer Science / Audio Engineer. 20+ Years of successful professional experience.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Pryda. Self-explanatory, he's a prolific genius.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Low-cut around 120hz all non-bass elements to clean up mud and gain more headroom.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing and Mastering. Enhancement and Signal Chain Processing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Quality, Inspiration, Tonality, Boost, Enhancements, Sparkle, Magic.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run a small but quality setup, with all-in-the box processing. German engineered and multi-award winning RME HDSPe AIO powers my audio signal chain. For near-field monitoring, I use the THX(Lucasfilm) certified Mackie HR824s. And my most valuable piece of equipment is my Ears.

A: Pryda, Illenium, San Holo, Kap Slap, Diplo, Tiesto, AVB, Adrenalize, Headhunterz, PVD, Slushii, Skrillex. And just a slew of tons more.
