I have a unique sound to my voice and can hit all the big diva notes. If you're looking for someone who can deliver a Whitney or Mariah style performance, look no further. I have extensive singing experience both live and in the studio. People often comment about my high range and perfect pitch. This price includes lead and backing vocals.
I've been a professional singer for the last 14 years, and a full-time vocalist since 2015. I can do anything from soft and emotional to full, high belting goodness in a number of genres. My clients love how fast I deliver their projects back to them. I strive to be fast, efficient and professional.
I also offer a free demo of one verse and chorus of your song, before you hire me, to help you decide if I'm the right fit for your project.
I've sang in many cover bands throughout my career so I can sing multiple genres including but not limited to Pop, RnB, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, EDM, Dreamy/Ethereal and Musical Theatre. ***I can also sing in Italian!***
Some artists I cover are Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Evelyn King, Donna Summer, Bruno Mars, Heart, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain and Pat Benatar, so if you're looking for someone to hit those high, powerful notes with ease, I'm your girl!
Unfortunately I cannot read music, so I will need some type of a guide track. I also do not do songwriting or melody creation, your melody and lyrics need to be already in place. I can, though, help out with the melody, if the core of it is already there and you want me to take some creative liberties.

I've been very fortunate to find really good vocalists on SoundBetter, but Josie is one of those diamond-in-a-goldmine vocalists who raises the bar of professionalism for all the others out there because rarely do you find someone who is as passionately committed to the job at hand as her. She's wickedly talented and a great communicator, but what makes her really stand out is that you can tell how much she enjoys what she does. She slayed this vocal project. Five stars simply aren't enough!

Just finished a project with Josie and it was truly amazing working with her. She does not only have a killer voice but is efficient, creative as well as professional. She will work and make sure you get the best vocals. What amazed us was her fabulous ad lib ideas! Josie will be dedicated to your project and will go extra miles so you get what you want. We really enjoyed working with her and will for sure be back for more as she is incredible to work with. 5 stars all the way indeed.
Josie,is a real pro and has a very wide range. My versions were a little flat and she raised them to the level I had in mind. Singing must come real easy to her since she had a fast turnaround. Would definitely recommend and call her again. Most pleased.

Josie Day is incredibly professional and lighting fast with her deliveries. Not to mention she can hit pretty much any note your song may need. Highly recommend!
Interview with Josie Day
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of my very first projects I did in the internet session singing world was a cover of "Cherry Bomb" for a slot machine sound track. The client even had me do voice overs like "big winner" for the game. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me where the machines were actually going so I'll be on the lookout whenever I'm in a casino.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I just finished recording my latest single and I'm always looking for session work and repeat clients. It's always an honor when someone likes your work so much that they keep coming back for more.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Audrey Callahan
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I've done both and I must say, I prefer the crisp, clean sound of digital.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will not rest till your song sounds the way you intended it to be. I am usually very fast in my deliveries, and depending on your response time, I can get a project completed very quickly, sometimes in the same day.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Singing is what I was born to do. The fact that I can make a living doing what I love is the biggest perk of all. Also the fact that I can work with virtually anyone around the world. No limit to the wonderful things that can be created.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you sing my song? Are you interested? The answer is yes, I'm here to work and I will give anything a shot! I have discovered hidden skills and talents that I would have never known I had if I hadn't challenged myself and taken on a project I normally wouldn't consider for myself. Like singing country or doing voiceovers.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you mind if I take liberties with the melody or do you want it note for note? Can the key be changed if it's too low for me or if I feel it would sound better higher or lower? When do you need the song by?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Get as many samples as you can from prospects before making the final decision on who to hire. I offer a free short demo of me singing your song for this very purpose. You can have the best voice in the world but it's ultimately the song who will guide you towards the best singer for it.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Assuming there is power and internet...my Shure Beta 58A mic, 8 channel mixer, speaker, cables, and my computer so I can sing to YouTube karaoke videos.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing music in one form or another for many years. I have been a full-time working musician since 2012, working in cover bands, recording, releasing and performing my own songs and have been doing online session work since 2017.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Very eclectic. My last album has all kinds of influences, from pop to rock, old school RnB and even Blues. I love it all!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Kelly Clarkson. I feel like our voices would blend really well. Plus she looks like a great person to be around, very down to earth.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Anything that comes my way. I love to challenge myself, it helps me learn things about myself that I didn't even know I could do. I have done pop, rock, RnB, jazz, country, blues, EDM and even a voiceover.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The ability to hit those high, belting notes and my overall work ethic. I am committed to doing my best to give the client what they want.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Passion, emotion, talent, a unique voice that doesn't sound like anybody else, and a high, belting range that can compete with the biggest divas in the world. I can also be soft and emotional too. True versatility in any genre.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen to the client's demo track and record while getting myself familiar with the song. After I am confident I have a great take, I send it to the client for review. From there they either love it or instruct me with tweaks they would like to hear. We keep doing that till they're 100% satisfied.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use a Neumann TLM 103 condenser mic, Bluebird Blue condenser mic, PreSonus Studio 24 interface, DBX 286s mic preamp/processor, Mogami Cables, Garageband DAW on 2018 Mac Desktop Computer in a sound treated studio.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a big fan of Kelly Clarkson and 90s Mariah Carey.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Lead and backup vocals to their lyrics and melody. I can also tweak their existing melody if they're looking for fresh ideas to take their song to the next level.
