Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I loved the old "Tube-Tech" songs I produced with the guys. We did club versions of songs of "the doors". "The End" entered the german charts and was a big worldwide clubhit.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: A new release for Tronic

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: I hired a couple of good singers here for my own productions. I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: I combine both in a way i need it.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: Professional feedback and work on their production.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: That I can help my clients to develop their sound and mix and to see that they get better next time they send another production to me.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: If their track is good to go, or if I can help with my feedback to improve their mix. I always do that.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: not sure about that...

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: To send me their track first. I listen to their production in the studio and get back to them with my feedback.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Concerning Techno and Club music... don´t look for anyone else :-)

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: Computer, Monitor controller, Genelec Speakers, Neve 8803 EQ, Master keyboard

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: This story is too long to describe here. I started in 94 with my first release. You can find many videos of my performances on YouTube and my releases on my Beatport page.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Club music with energy!

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: Sven Väth (just because it was one of my heros in the early 90s)

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Always compare your sound A/B with the big productions. Before you go into details, for example which EQ plug in you should use, try to develop a general feeling for the proportions of bass, mids and highs first.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Club and Techno music

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My experience of more than 25 years as a producer and DJ having produced multiple club hits and more than 100 releases. As I always had the chance to play my productions in the clubs my myself, I had the possibility to compare my sound with the big productions always and grow through this process.

A: My experience...

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: For a mastering, I first develop a feeling for the track and then start to work. I start to eliminate frequencies that are not needed and then develop the rough sound. After I do the finetuning until it reached the point where I can feel it and I am 100% fine with the sound.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: reasonable mix of analog and digital weapons. In the end it does not matter that much which equipment you have, but how good you know it and how good you can use it.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: Some of the big names in the techno scene of course have a fat sound, but after so many years, I developed an own sound and stick to that.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: Most of the time I do masterings and mixdowns for my clients. In addition to that, I give detailed feedbacks concerning the sound of the production and how it can be improved. It turned out that my clients appreciate this most, as they can learn to move forward with their mixing for the next productions. So for me it is also important to help as I also needed help when I started to produce.
