I've spent the last 15+ years working professionally. I've compiled some of the most impressive sounding synths and sounds that you can find. I can do anything from recording a complex piano track to re-orchestrating an entire orchestra using midi programming. Need a track that sounds like your favorite artist? I can make that for you. One of my favorite recent projects is called Extra Lives, a video game music group. I programmed and performed keyboards on over 100 videos, with music ranging from regular Nintendo games to modern PS4 titles.

Interview with Tim Lillis

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I just finished a project where I provided several short sound clips for a client's Instagram channel. They were all 3-7 second clips of music and sound design where I performed different instruments and created sounds from scratch.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been a professional musician since I was a teenager. I studied composition, arranging, and performance at the Berklee College of Music (2009). I then wrote a Vegas styled show for a 9-piece band and performed that for 2 years on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. I then relocated to Los Angeles and became the keyboard player for Britney Spear's Piece of Me Tour in 2018. Along the way I've been a session musician in LA for 6 years, have released 2 albums and several tracks, and am a founding member of the video game music group Extra Lives (which has nearly 1 million views on YouTube).
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I have an expertise in all keyboard instruments (piano, Rhodes, organ, and synthesizers). I can replicate modern synths (like Bruno Mars, Sia, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga) as well as old school R&B Rhodes, organs, mellotron, and strings.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Every project is a little different, but my philosophy is to collaborate with my clients and create something that is true to their vision. I gain as much insight as I can from my clients, send them samples of some ideas to make sure we're on the right track, and work hard to create something that they absolutely love.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a complete studio with a wide array of keyboards, microphones, thousands of soft synths including Omnisphere and Keyscape (the best piano and Rhodes sounds available), and mainly use Logic Pro X.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My most common work is performing and arranging piano tracks for vocalists, including musical theater auditions, karaoke tracks for live performance or YouTube videos, and original music. I do a lot of sound design audio, and also provide musical clips for social media posts.
