Collaborating with Mark was easy, efficient, and enjoyable. He was always quick to respond to messages and feedback. Also very patient. Most importantly, the vocal mix he did of my song was superb and turned out just as I'd envisioned. Would love to work with him again.

Mark was amazing to work with! He produced my song in the exact style I had in mind and was so easy to work with any adjustments I wanted. He is super talented and would recommend any singer/songwriter to hire him - he'll make your tracks sound so good and professional! Thank you again Mark!

It was a pleasure working with Mark again. We had kind of a chill angsty morning song that he helped bring together. I ultimately got a bit undecided on the direction last minute, but he made it sound really cool and we went with that. Thanks again Mark!

Another very good production job by Mark on a pop song.Highly recommended

Not really the result I was expecting. Im not sure if my stock files are to blame, but I feel like I paid $250 for a limiter and some stock reverb settings. Deffinately undersatisfied, especially after a roughly 2 week wait. I was hoping the final renders would loose their lo-fi feeling but it never happened. Good dude to communicate with and maybe better luck next time.

Another excellent job by Mark on a pop song...He took my dated Track and put a very modern spin on it....Recommend him very highly.Another song I finished with Mark recently has been signed to Crucial Music who are extremely picky re songs pitched

Mark did another fab and awesome job on a song i gave him to embellish...All I had was a guitar riff and a vocal and he put some great modern instrumentation around it to optimise the track..I have signed a lot of his work to Music Libraries/ Sync Agencies already

Really enjoyed working with Mark. My track was partially produced, but needed a couple more elements, and a good mix and master. We discussed it back and forth and had good communication, and the track started to really shine better and better! Once we got the magic down, we did some small lite tweaks and adjustments, and it was perfect, and ready for release. I must say I especially enjoyed the mix, and the vocal processing. I plan on coming back with another project to work on together soon.

Interview with Mark Dorflinger
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Mackie HR824 Professional Studio Monitors with a 10 inch Sub as low as 10Hz. My room is fully treated with sound panels and bass traps. I currently record with a Neumann U87 microphone on Neve Pre / Apogee Symphony. I also have access to big recording studios at all times for mixing which include Focal/Barefoot and Grace Monitoring Systems.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually make fully produced songs from scratch. Also creating high quality mix and master. I am also know for high quality/ natural vocal editing as well.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I worked on a lot of projects for Bebe Rexha which helped her get signed to a major label.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: This week I recorded and edited Flo Rida vocals on a new song and working on two instrumental productions for Pop R&B artists.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Michael Khan
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog for recording (going in), and Digital (going out). Best quality for the amount of time you'll end up spending.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Everyone who hears your music will be able to connect and vibe to your message and performance in a sonically full production and sound.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I take every gig as a challenge and love getting projects to the finish line as quick as possible.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long does it usually take to make a beat? As long as it takes (until your happy)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think most people don't realize the time and effort that is put into learning the knowledge, the music, the tools, and the ability to hear pitch/time; and then applying that knowing what to fix in recorded music and how to do it properly.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of sound are you going for?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure your provider is easy to work with and can get the job done right!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: laptop, interface, microphone, mic cable, solar powered battery
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started off as a musician first and foremost; performing piano, vocals, and trombone in many bands (Jazz, O, Orchestra, Choir, Pop, Rock). When I was 14 I bought my first DAW before interning at ShoreFire Studios in Long Branch, NJ. After that I continued my work as I attended Berklee College of Music. Since then I have always been writing and recording my own music as well has helping everyone else in the music community with their projects.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Realistic, smooth, dynamics
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Post Malone because he comes from the heart and the production is fire!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always listen to your mixes at low volume. If you listen to a mix too loud for too long your ears get tired and you start to lose your sense of highend, timing, and pitch.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Acoustic, Live Performances, EDM
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Ability to play and improvise on piano/trombone. Editing pitch and time for vocals and instruments.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A sense of realism mixed with a sonically full production that feels right, and stands out.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to start the project while sending/presenting my progress to the customer for input and direction until satisfied.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Serban Ghenea, Alex Tumay, Taz Taylor, Murdabeats, Phil Greiss, Chris Lord-Alge,
I was the mixing/mastering engineer and performing artist in this production
