London based session bassist who specialises in strong bass lines that add musicality and soul to any musical context
Born and raised in Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom and moved to London at the age of 19. Mathew was immersed in music from an early age, performing with bands and recording in studios for a variety of artists.
Through his studies in London he graduated with a Bachelors of Music and the Best Bassist award, In his studies he was able to create a network of top musicians which have helped him kickstart his career.
Whilst in London, Mathew has worked in the session scene and played for a variety of artists including the award winning Matt Annecharico, Matilda Gracia, Oscar Corney, Gabriela Eva, Days Indoors and Alex Cambridge to name few.
Mathews most recent work has found him working as an MD for artists under the record label Dreamscope Media Group ltd, ranging from Neo Soul to Latin Rock and Pop. Currently Mathew is continuing to work deep in the session scene of London and around the U.K.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am always working with a roster of artists and bands in the UK, recording and performing live. I also MD various projects.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: the variety of possibilities, a song can take form in so many different ways and that exploration to find what best suits the song is a pleasure.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Is there anything specific in the material I should know, for example; unison lines, breaks and stabs.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Send me a track and your vision for it, even if you are still looking for that special something, I want your opinion of where you feel the music should take you.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The list is endless but the short answer is John Mayer, his evolution of material over the years leaves such a palette of sounds to explore from country to blues, pop and great Songwriting
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I play a wide array of eclectic genres and enjoy them all, from Singer-songwriter and giving a vocalist a foundation to rest upon, to more melodic RnB where I can add a sense of movement and feel.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ear and intuition.

A: Musicality and a strong foundation.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to a track and talk to the artist, get their thoughts and feelings of the material, their emotions and vision for it, and take it from there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run a clean set-up with a bass guitar into Eich T500 amplifier, DI out into a AVID MBOX which goes into Logic Pro X
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My inspirations vary from legends such as Pino Palladino, Adam Blackstone, Derrick Hodge and Thundercat to name a few.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I write and record original and strong bass lines through remote sessions or live with an artist, recording in studios and performing.

I record a clean DI bass track and work closely with you to make sure you are happy. I give 2 revisions of your track, any extra revisions will charged an extra $15.
