I'm here to play the right role for each artist - whether you're looking for edits, arrangements, full backing tracks, or general creative collaboration - I'm a producer who will listen as carefully to *you* as I do to your music.

Being an effective collaborator is all about establishing a connection with the artist and their work to make sure the finished song sounds exactly how they envisioned it. The genres I work with are anything Singer-Songwriter, especially any combination of Pop, Indie, Folk, Alternative, and Rock.

I also have a small recording space available and am an audio engineer at a Brooklyn recording studio - please contact for rates and more details.

Some of my favorite things:
Beautiful, emotive vocals and lyrics with a message or a story. Building a musical world that reinforces and emphasizes those vocals. Finding the perfect combination of rhythms to create a groove you feel like you could dance to forever. Big, stacked vocal harmonies. Music that has the perfect flow to keep you enthralled through a whole song or album. I'm a total sucker for a concept album.

If you're looking for true collaboration and want to make something exciting, get in touch and let's make it happen!

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Jason was wonderful to work with to produce a song I've been wanting to make for some time. I'm new to recording and he took the time to explain the various steps, what I would receive at the end of our project, and then what I would need to do from there (mixing and mastering). He even took it in stride when I did a complete 180 on the direction I wanted the song to take. He has all the professional gear at his home studio which was comfortable to work in. I highly recommend Jason.

Jason was a pleasure to work with. I brought him some acoustic demos for an EP and he worked with me to turn them into full, lush arrangements. He has a fantastic ear and is able to balance the need to let an artist express their own vision while still making suggestions and improvements when necessary. He is patient, kind and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

It would be impossible for me to say enough great things about Jason as a collaborator and producer. My jaw fell to the floor when I heard the mix he did on my single for the first time, I couldn't believe the difference he was able to make in the song in such a short amount of time! Jason's work elevated my raw vocals and brought the entire track together, and I have him to thank for shepherding the project to a place of professional readiness. I will absolutely hire him again!

I can't recommend working with Jason too highly! He's a motivated, professional, creative, and majorly talented producer. He also really means it when he says that he's dedicated to helping you find your own sound, instead of imposing an outside vision. He is an amazing listener and will stick with a project until you get a sound that you genuinely love. Choose him for any song that you're passionate about and watch when you create magic together!

Interview with Jason Sill

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  2. A: I love Frank Ocean, Lorde, Jack Antonoff, Madison Cunningham, Samia, Ryan Beatty, Lizzy McAlpine. Green Day has been my favorite since I was a kid.

  3. Q: What's your typical work process?

  4. A: My work process is your work process! When I'm producing it's up to the artist. I can drive or sit passenger seat. One thing that's fairly consistent is that I almost always start building something from a melody, lyric, or vocal idea first.

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: Creative ideas, direction, excitement, flow. "Whatever the song needs" feels cliche but that's probably the best answer.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Never let your song get boring. That doesn't have to mean it's always all-in, over the top, always changing. But add everything you need to let the song flow in a way that makes sense for what you're trying to say, then take a step back, and see what still needs extra spice and what you can take away.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: Anything singer-songwriter, especially if it's got some combo of pop, indie, rock, alternative, blues, folk, acoustic, or punk. Mix up those words into whatever sub-genre you want haha

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: Listening & collaborating! I'm helping you with your sound, not imposing my own.
