Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: A project that means a lot to me is my debut collaboration EP ‘RUSH’ . I worked on it with my friend Sarah Skinner and it turned out fantastic. I was the executive producer and engineer
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m currently working on my own music. Singles and working on my second EP.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Dream Addix
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Ever since I started producing I’ve worked with digital. So digital, but analog is chill.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to my clients is that I promise to put my all into whatever project it is and make the vision come to life
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: My job doesn’t feel like a job. It’s an escape and that’s my favorite part. It’s healing
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They usually show me a reference song and say “Can you make something like this?” I say yes, of course.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I feel like a lot of people think producers these days take a chord progression sample, melody sample and put drums over it... It’s much more than that. I create from the heart, not just to make a banger for the public
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Have you released music before? Can I hear some of the music if you have any to show? What kind of vibe are you aiming for here?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let the provider know exactly what you want. Be very descriptive on the vision.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop. Apollo Interface. Headphones. Neumann U87. Keyboard
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been producing music since I was 16 years old. I saved up for a laptop at my first job and it started from there. I went to ICON Collective music production school for a year, and now I’m here
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I have many different styles. It depends on the mood I’m in, but I’d say my main style is Chill Out/Downtempo
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Clams Casino. I’ve been listening to his work for years and I feel like our production styles would mesh together very very well.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A tip that I’ve learned is leave your Ego out when jumping into a session. Don’t think, just create. While producing you can’t think “oh well are people going to like this?” Do you yourself like it? That’s all that matters
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on EDM/Pop it Hip-Hop, but I’m versatile and can work in many different areas
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I’d say my strongest skill is bringing the right vibe to the track wether it be melodies, chord progressions or just atmosphere/textures. I get that done well
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring lots of different attributes to a song, but I bring atmosphere, melody, groove and energy to a song
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Usually before I start any music, I draw a mandala or write for 15 minutes to clear my headspace. Once I’m ready to start creating, I usually start with a chord progression or a beat
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a typical bedroom studio setup, but it gets the job done. I have 2 KRK monitors, Komplete Kontrol keyboard, a MacBook Pro and lots and lots of plug-ins. I produce off of Ableton Live 10
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am truly inspired by so many different artists/musicians, but to name a few I’d say Flume, Clams Casino, Logic and Kaivon
