For hundreds of years, music have been broken down into the basic elements of melody, harmony and rhythm. This description has always seemed vague to me, since I felt it was missing the core element, music’s projection. That sensations that sound is projected outward with no hope of returning, a sensation we feel when the powerful beam of a search light flies out into the distance. For the ear as for the eye, there is a sense of a projection, of a journey into space. This is what music really should be defined as and it’s how I live, feel, write and play music.
