Hi! I'm Charlotte. I'm a professional singer based in Kent in the UK. I'm a classically trained vocalist, with a strong background working with a variety of songwriters and producers, helping complete demo recordings for labels, as well as singing final versions of tracks being released & for TV soundtracks. As a versatile vocalist, previous session work has included working in the following genres: blues, soul, rock, metal, classical, house, jazz, folk, as well as imitating existing artists for recordings.
I can also write quality songs and record quality vocals for your project very quickly. I write in a variety of genres, but specialise in pop & soul music. I can also easily provide vocal tracks along with harmonies and backgrounds for your project.
If you are in need of spoken voice, I'm also a professional voiceover artist, recording for various corporate companies, and radio advertisements.
I am a passionate & flexible artist, and endeavour to create the most perfect outcome for your project. Just tell me what you're after and we'll make it happen - communication is key! Let's bring your project to life!

Interview with Charlotte Lubbock
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Singer's aren't musicians... Us good ones are!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Billy Joel because he's a great timeless songwriter and inspiration to me.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm influenced by many many artists! From Etta James to Sarah Vaughn, Alannah Myles to P!nk, & Elton John to Julie Andrews! Told you I was versatile!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To approach all sessions with honesty and an open mind.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The variety - of both the people I collaborate with / work for & the music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Time scale / Where the songs going / How much vocal is needed / Where does the recording need to take place.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as specific with your requirements as you want the result. If you're open to suggestions, let me know. Chatting through ideas is the best way forward in my experience.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: - Pen - Paper - Piano - Mac - Mic
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career path so far has gone like this... Brit School of Performing Arts > Front heavy rock band and tour relentlessly, release album etc > Set up vocal coaching business > session & voice coach primarily, gigging on the side > write and release solo album (currently in the process of doing this!). My first gig was when I was 12 and my first session was when I was 17. It's in my blood.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Unique and I always mean it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on pop and soul tracks.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I work well with instruction. Tell me honestly what you're after and I'll happily take it on and change what I'm doing to fit your requirements. Equally, I love putting my own spin on music... So free reign is always fun too!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A versatile voice that can work with anything, experience in creating a finished piece, suggestions for layers to complete the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Usually, songwriters send me their current tracks with a guide vocal (a few days before the session if I go to them - usually I do) & I learn the track ready for quick recording upon arrival. I will also always suggest harmonies if any come naturally to see if the writer would like to use it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I only have a basic set up at home... Garageband & Samson condenser microphone, as well as a bluebird style condenser microphone for the according projects. I often use friends studios locally as they have more equipment options.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Primarily I work with songwriters needing a professional voice to complete their song before submission to record labels. This often also involves some changes to the tracks (extra layers / changes to structure) if song writers ask for my feedback on whether the vocal track works as a whole from a singer's perspective.
