I'm beaming from ear to ear. JR took my scrappy demo and within in a day turned into a killer track, no revision needed. Turn around was quick, he is extremely professional and more importantly competent; he nailed it straight out the gate.

Interview with JR Long II
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: It's small, but professional. I monitor with KRK VXT4 and use Sennheiser HD 25 II to mix the lower frequencies. The Fantom G6 and Yamaha Motif ES are used mostly for layering with my software synths. My DAW of choice is Presonus Studio One 4 Professional and Native Instruments Maschine 2, I also have Komplete 11 Ultimate, Omnisphere 2, Melodyne 4 Studio, iZotope Alloy 2, Neutron 2, Ozone 6, Iris 2, RX 7, and lots of Waves plugins.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Prince, Teddy Riley, Jam & Lewis, Donny Hathaway, Terrace Martin, Jhene Aiko, Robert Glasper, 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, Brian Michael Cox, The Bomb Squad, Clare Fischer, Leonard Bernstein, D'Angelo, Just Blaze, Young Guru, Robert Glasper, Art Of Noise, George Duke, Lonnie Liston Smith, etc....
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: RnB, Nu Soul, OVO, Orchestral and Pop mostly.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The reaction from clients when I finish their song(s) is priceless.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be specific as you can about what you want and if possible, leave a little creative wiggle room. Keep the lines of communication open. and don't be afraid of making suggestions.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I take directions from the client and start to build the song. When the song starts to take shape, I'll send the client an mp3 example. If they're happy with the direction of the song, I'll continue which is normally the case. But if they want to make any changes, I change it to their liking. I like to communicate with the client throughout the project to make sure they get exactly what they want.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Being able to take a client's vision and turn it into a great sounding song. To be more specific, I'd say music production.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: This actually happened to me lol. Maschine Studio, AKG Precision 200, Fantom G6, Forte audio interface and my laptop.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Keke Wyatt. Her voice really inspires me. The first time I heard her sing, I had a gazillion song ideas lol.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My ears, passion, adaptability, and not taking criticism personally.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the time my clients want a completely produced song for either an album or as background music for videos promoting their product. As a pianist, my clients are all 5-star hotels and all I have to do is play and sing.
