My most recent credits have come from working with 21 Savage and Young Nudy. When you hire me to work on your project, you're hiring an engineer who won't stop until he has the mix sounding exactly how you want it. My average turnaround time is 2-5 business days.
DJ BJ (born Bradley Whitaker) was born in Richmond, Virginia and raised in Atlanta, Ga. Growing up he was surrounded by all genres of music. By the age of six, DJ BJ began taking piano lessons and drumming lessons at his local church. By age 15, he was invited to play drums professionally for a Gospel recording artist. Since moving to Atlanta, his career in music has flourished into reality from a simple dream. He began to DJ in clubs around the city and network with many different recording artists and producers. DJ did exactly what was asked of very quickly and did a great job. Looking forward to working with him again!
DJ BJ is solid as gold. No matter if your an upcoming artist looking to break through or an already established artist looking to further distinguish that industry quailty sound, BJ is your guy. ~ TreBdoe
Greatest mixing and mastering in Atlanta Ga. First time ever linking with him he provided information and help like I grew up with him. He will definitely give you the best quality and direction for any song. Never hesitate to do business with him!
Great at what he does, always making sure the artist gets what they want, and does what he can in order to make sure the quality is exactly what the artist likes. Ive worked with him for a year or so now, and I wouldnt want anybody else to mix and master my songs. HE IS TRULY A BLESSING.
Interview with DJ BJ
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Working on Young Nudy's next album as of today.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Definitely love both. Hard to deny the sound that analog brings when working with bands, but also love doing everything in the box (digital) when it comes to recording and mixing hip hop.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I can fix any problem that they have. Some clients will bring poorly recorded vocal tracks and expect for them to sound amazing when it comes back. There is only so much an engineer can do with anything that isn't quality.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would say my mix style is rooted on clarity. I make sure vocals are top notch and clear enough to sit in a mix perfectly.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would definitely love to work with Drake and Lil Wayne. Both major influences on my musical career andI would love to be apart of their process and resume one day.
