DG_The Legend is an American audio engineer, songwriter, rapper known for his diverse and soulful music. With experience creating, capturing and producing unique sounds, even in an ever changing music industry, his innovative approach to music production allows him to create new music that is fresh, unique and diverse.
Born Derrick Lamar Garrett in Sacramento, California on March 21, 1984, DG The Legend attended Humboldt State University as a student athlete in hopes of making it into the NFL. Due to an injury he sustained, his football career prematurely ended. Derrick decided to move back home to pursue his passion for music.
Derrick has always had a keen ear and a strong desire for producing music. He attended Pinnacle College in Sacramento for music production and recording arts, where he received his audio engineering degree.
These days, Derrick spends most of his time in the studio creating, mixing, and mastering music. He enjoys spending time with his four children, and is currently working on expanding his business. With his big dreams, this is only the beginning of a new star producer.
