Gibson Warren Music

Writer/Multi-instrumentalist

I am a writer. I also produce bands and artists. My focus is always on being raw and genuine. Music should be felt, and be as real as possible. When recording I try to provide an atmosphere to let the artist flow freely and be true to their art.

I will write for any event, occasion, or need, as well as if you are an artist who doesn't like to write, but would still like to perform, I will ghost write for any genre. As a producer I mainly have experience with indie and rock types, as well as hip-hop styles. For recording I mostly use a minimal but quality setup to provide the raw sound of the artist. My recording session are relaxed and all about the artist. I am a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, bass, drums, piano, organ, marimba/xylophone, singing, and other percussion. If you need a session musician, or someone to sit in with your band, I'm your guy. I have a good live setup that can be rented for live performances and I do setup, show run, and take down myself. Lastly I do offer drum set lessons.

Interview with Gibson Warren Music

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I'm actually working on this sort of parody style rap project titled The Prophets. It's like commentary on what it means to be a rapper and write rap.. except it's delivered through parody and style parody of rap.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Find who fits your style. I won't attempt to be somebody else for you. That comes off as rude but really it's just so that you get the best service for your money, especially if you want to be recorded. A gospel band probably won't enjoy the loud, metal-head producer that much. Find a good fit and go with them.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I currently work part-time as a janitor at a funeral service. That sounds funny, but it's life man. I consider music my full-time job as well as going to school at Arkansas State. I've been at the music thing since 2011 so about 6 years now, which is baffling looking back. I was playing drum set before that but my recording and producing past time started in 2011.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: I'm easy going ya know? I sit around playing anything that strikes me on the day and just have fun. I feel that it's important not to take it all too seriously. I mean of course it's art and it's great and you should most definitely work hard at it, but some people try to make it hard. Just practice, enjoy the time of making music, and enjoy playing it for people. That's all that counts right?

  9. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  10. A: I've always been inspired by the pioneers of recording in the early tape days. Brain Wilson of the Beach Boys with his crazy techniques for getting new sounds. George Martin, the Beatles producer and occasional arranger, with his styles that gave the Beatles their undeniable sound. There are many others who come to mind that pushed the sonic limits such as Pink Floyd or Jimi Hendrix and his wild guitar playing. The people who've stretched sound to it's ends or tried new things to make a cool and exciting sound inspire me the most.
