Levi Brown is an aspiring audio engineer, film composer, and producer. He graduated from McNally Smith College of Music in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music in Composition, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Music Production.

I provide remote mixing & mastering services. I also compose original music for film, TV, and video games.

  1. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  2. A: Put your heart & soul into the performance and everything else will fall into place.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: I just finished recording and mixing The Lawn Ducks' studio EP and am very proud of how the mixes came out. Sending it off to mastering soon!

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: Building a portfolio.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I currently run a digital studio but hope to incorporate analog equipment in the future.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: High-quality sound at a reasonable price.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Its the best job in the world.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: No one understands what mixing is!

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: The first question I always ask is what is the deadline and if they are having their project professional mastered. This lets me know how much time I have to work and how I have to deliver the files.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: My computer and speakers, Fab Filter plugins,

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I have been writing and producing my own music for nearly 13 years, and have been working on other people's music for about 5 years. I got my start as a film composer and branched off to recording/mixing music a few years ago.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: Parellel Processing! It Rocks!

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: Hip-Hop, Acoustic/Singer-Songwriter, and Rock.

  26. A: Mixing Music

  28. A: I bring an experienced ear and a great taste in music.

  30. A: I start with listening to the song

  31. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  32. A: I have a modest studio setup with a computer running top-of-the-line software processing through an Apogee Duet. I monitor through Dynaudio BM5 mkIII active monitors in a acoustically treated room.

  33. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  34. A: Mixed by Ali, Chris Lord-Alge, Andrew Scheps, Dave Pensado, Mike Elizando, and Justin Meldel-Johnson.

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: The most common work I do is recording and mixing music for clients.
