I needed the basic drums, piano and vocal tracks completed over a holiday weekend, but fortunately Farrington Studios stepped up and got it done in a couple hours. I highly recommend these gents, they really know what they're doing. Had a great time working with Farrington Studios, for certain. I look forward to recording with them again!

Ryan is an incredible artist! I sent him an original acapella song and he created an instrumental that was more than I expected. Way better than what I could have dreamed up for myself. I'm thrilled with the finished track!

I had a tremendous time working with Farrington Studios. They are absolutely top notch and flawless in the quality of work they do. If you're looking for any sort of collaboration or work-for-hire then go no further. Throw anything at them and they'll come back with well over a dozen ideas. I couldn't be happier with the work they've done for me!

Interview with Farrington Studios

  1. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  2. A: Because of who our friends are and the circles we run in, our most common genre that we work on is in the Rock/Metal ballpark. However we do have plenty of experience in many other genres such as Indie, Spoken Word, Folk, Worship and Irish Pub Punk (it's a thing. Trust us.)

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: We would like to think that it is whatever the song needs, but a little bit of our personalities and influences always manage to creep in somehow. Nowadays, people are infatuated with finding gear that is "transparent," i.e. you can't tell that it was used on an instrument or song. We are not transparent. Every little piece of music that has ever found it's way into our subconcious adds to our musical voice and finds it's way onto each track we do and people want that. It's what make us and our recordings unique.

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: Our studio setup has been built up slowly with money we have acquired doing FoH for local bands, mobile recordings, the occasional insurance scam, etc. Your normal income sources. We have many pieces of professional digital and outboard gear, such as the SSL 4000 plugin bundle, amazing Neve 1073 and API preamp clones as well as a horde of great compressor plugins and rack units. Since our business grew from recording live bands during their performances with professional studio gear, our whole recording setup is mobile and allows us to record anywhere that will get us the right sound. This could be anywhere from an old warehouse to get big booming drum sounds, to a tiny ice cooler for weird guitar sounds. Whatever the client and the song requires.

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: Our musical influences and inspirations are too many to list here, but we have always found a common artist that has some emotional significance to both us and our current client that we can bond over and draw inspiration from. Our engineering influences are a bit easier to manage, including Joe Barresi, Silvia Massy and Chris Lord-Alge.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: Our most popular work requests that we get here at Farrington Studios are twofold: 1.) Helping singer/song writers flesh out a song that they have in their head, but may not have access to profession musicians to write the accompanying parts for. Through our connections that we have made over the years, we have acquired a list of professional musicians that we are able to call in to make sure that the client gets accompanying parts that are both performed and recorded professionally. 2.) Clients also come to us for simple remote session work for when they have a part already written, they just require it to be performed on different gear that they may not have local access to for less than the price of a car.
