The Cage Studios have been built up over 30 years by Martin Bowes of ATTRITION and recently moved into new purpose built premises, the studio has been used for most of the 20 or so Attrition albums as well as Martin's extensive remix, production, mastering and Film and TV soundtracks for an international client list, working in genres as diverse as dark ambient, post punk, space rock, folk, industrial, drum n bass, neo-classical, punk and metal........

Interview with The Cage Studios
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Always both. For instruments, recording gear or final music formats... there is something to be gained in both analogue and in digital.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It has been 35 years since i started my own band, ATTRITION... and it still feels like yesterday... there is always so much i still want to achieve :)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: It varies a lot between electronic music and more traditional instruments... and often music that is pushing the boundaries... variety is one of the spices of life.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The pioneers always inspire, and those where the emotion can be felt in their music...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Generally I am split between mastering for Vinyl and CD and mixing/remixing my own and other artists work
