Mixing and mastering is my expertise but as you will read below, my skills go much deeper which allows me the unique ability to relate to everyone in the process.

Many many years of actively living all aspects of music production have given me the ability to communicate with everyone on the production team and understand where they are coming from on their end. Be it artist, producer, management, label, recording engineer, drummer, bass player, vocalist, anybody.

Although I am a specialist in mixing and mastering, I also write, record, and distribute as a recording artist so I am in touch with the experiences and needs of the other members of the production team.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm proud of everything I've done. One leads to another and all the while your learning and becoming more and more each day in order to be more and more useful to others.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Just finished projects for Jamal Batiste who has a new album coming out. He's a true prodigy when it comes to drums and songwriting! And also a project for Casme' who is one of the best singers I've ever heard. She needs no effects or vocal fixing on her voice. What you hear in the recording is what you would hear live. Amazing! Then we're finishing up my next personal project, "deeper", which is a culmination of everything I know as of now. Sonically it is an amazing recording.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog tracking and digital mixing and mastering. (See answer above about studio setup for details)
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We will get you where you need to be with your song.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: To make it loud just turn up the volume.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you love most about this track?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let's have a conversation. You tell me what you need and I'll let you know what I need from you to get you there.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A kick drum to make a rain barrel so I can have water, a pop screen to catch little fish in order to catch bigger fish for food, some cables to tie various things down with, my Galaxy drum bags for storage containers, and the utility knife in the drawer in my gear rack.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is the needs of the artist and the song at hand. If you know your craft well enough you can give them what they need in any style.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Unfortunately Michael Jackson has past away.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never let anyone outside of your team hear anything less than your very best. Be patient and take the time to do it right!!!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Country, Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop and all of their variations. Artists today are MUCH more diverse than in the past.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening. Literally and figuratively. Then knowing what to do to take action.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Problem solving, ability to listen, ability to comprehend and understand the client's vision, ability to relate to the entire process in order to articulate and master by part in the process because I'm still actively involved on the other parts everyday. I play instruments, sing, record, write and produce music so I'm not one of those engineers stuck in a mind set because I haven't been in other people's shoes. I have and I still am. I have the ability to contribute anywhere I'm asked because I possess all of those skills because I've worked my tail off to master them.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My work process is dictated by the song and the client's needs. It starts with talking to the client then listening to the song. That tells me what step #1 will be. Then I go from there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix and master in the box. Plugins today are so advanced that they sound great. They are also more compatible with the digital workflow of today's music production in ways that analog gear is not.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired and learn from just about everyone I come across.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Lots of Mastering and Mixing and some guitar work
