  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: my new single.."BIG SEXY". I produced, mixed, performed everything on it. www.itunes.com/richeylam

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Song placements for commercials with my publisher.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: I had to learn Analog when I was coming up. But Digital is the way. Adapt or die.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I will give you my best. If I can't I will help guide you to the right direction.

  10. A: being creative

  12. A: Can you make me sound like beyoncé. Answer...No.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: Being versatile is key. You have to have an understanding of all types of music.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: TimeFrame and Expectations.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Really think about what you are looking for..Take the time and listen to samples of their work. Listen to them live. Just because someone says they are talented and speaks well doesn't mean they understand your needs.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Guitar, Piano, Mic, Laptop, DAWS....What else do you really need?!

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: Raised in Atlanta,GA. Undergrad in Nashville. Belmont University. Grad school at UCLA. Then college circuit, Toured Asia. Moved to Chicago. Currently in Austin, TX. 20 years exprience in the music industry.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: Authentic. It has to feel right. Even if I am dong a cover I will always find a way to put my signature on it, unless it for something specific.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: I love new up and coming talent. People who are creative inspire me.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Potato Chips- For any vocalist having a hard time warming up. If the Weather is cold or you're feeling sick or if you just don't have enough time to vocalize. Potato Chips are a life savor.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: Pop/Rock/Hip Hop/ R&B/ Country

  32. A: I love all kinds of music. Probably Melody and hook.

  34. A: Versatile skill set. Weather its lyrics, vocals, a catchy hook. Understanding other singers. How to bring the best in someones performance.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: Depends on the project. If its lyrics- Focus on a theme. Melody- Sonically fits the lead vocal. Beats- Find the right sample/Song data base. Break down the song into sections and work them out.

  38. A: Small Home studio, Keys, Mics, Guitars, Midi, Logic Pro X.
