Adrià Sanz on SoundBetter

Hi! My name is Adrià. I'm a session drummer and singer songwriter. When I'm recording drums I always try to serve the writer's vision and understanding of the song complementing it with my touch and feel. I like to keep it simple and for the song. For me, it's all about telling a story, feelings and sensations.

I record old drums with old and ribbon microphones and I like to work up to 6 or 7 channels. The sounds I love the most are those from the 60's, 70's and 90's - early 00's.

Send me an MP3 o WAV file of your song, better with instructions, and I will carefully listen to it and give my feedback on what I feel it would work. Maybe we'll talk about it a little and then I will send you some tracks. Some revisions may be done if necessary.

I record through Universal Audio 4-710D and Golden Age Project 573 preamps.
The microphones I use are Akg D12, four Akg D190, Akg D590, Shure 545SD and 545S, Beyerdynamic M55, two Golden Age Project R1 and one R1 Active, Reslo UD4M and Moth Mic STD.
My kits are two 60's Premier, a 70's Sonor Acrylic (big sizes) and a 60's John Grey & Sons.
My go to snare drums are a 60's Ludwig Acrolite and an old Tromsa for a woody and dry sound. I do have a Pearl Chad Smith Signature and a Yamaha Oak Custom that I don't use that much.
The cymbals I tend to use are 60's Paiste Stambul (22" medium thin, 20" medium, 15" medium thin hi-hat) and Paiste Giant Beat (24", 20", 15" hi-hat).
I may use a 22" Zildjian K Constantinople, 24" Istambul Agop Jazz Ride, 22" Sabian Big and Ugly Pandora, 22" Dream Bliss and others.

All will be talked through before tracking!

Adrià's work is exceptional, he has the style of a vintage drummer and sounds fresh and modern at the same time. He also has excellent recording equipment. He has complete drum kits from the 60's and 70's. If you are looking for a quality drum recording, with a familiar and friendly service, look no further. Adrià is a winning choise.
