Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll give your project my undivided attention and nothing but my best. I want you to be thrilled with what you get.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creative process really feeds my soul. Seeing an idea turn into a full on production is inspiring.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Effective communication goes a long way. Providing detailed notes/direction is very helpful in getting your vocalist to understand what you're wanting. For example, instead of "I want this to sound like Dua Lipa," you can say "I'm going for a pop vocal with a warmer tone, like Dua Lipa. I think the understated energy she has in Levitating would be great for my song." Keep an open dialogue with your voice talent. In the end, both sides want a great product!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Lara Fabian. I feel like working with her would be a master class for vocalists. She's really one of the most under-rated international vocalists of our time.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Control
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Energy, passion and respect for every client's vision and desires. My vocal range and depth makes me a good candidate for a large spectrum of musical projects.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It starts with communication. Aside from getting receiving a track and lyric sheet, I want to know what the client's vision is for the song. Who is the audience? Is it going to be released? Having some visual imagery is also helpful for me. Something to put into my head as I go into the vocal booth. I study the lyrics I'll record until I think I've nailed the right feel for the tune. That's why it's good to have a clear vision from the client.
