SPRATTA'S MIX AND MASTER

I mix and master anything from hip hop to pop to indie, etc. I can get your vocals (and song) sounding however you like. I've been mixing for about 2 years and have MAJOR production experience behind that as well. Whatever your art needs I'm here to make it the best it can be.

Tell me about your project and how I can help, through the 'Contact' button above.

Interview with spratta

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Digital; the game is changing.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I won't stop until the mix is DONE.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Making songs better than the demos they begin with.

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: Q: What do you charge for mixing? A: 2-track mix: $50 Full Stems mix: $75

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: I'm a mix engineer, not a recording engineer.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: How does this song make you feel? What do you like most about the song? What don't you like about the song?

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: I love talking with clients BEFORE mixes to get ideas and know where to go with the song/project. Also, be organized when you send stems.

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: Neve 1073, CL 1B, C-800G, Pultec EQ, and a Fairchild compressor.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: Started inspired by a friend who made beats, so I started making beats, then working with artists, then recording, and here I am mixing. Been about 2-3 years now.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: I don't really have a style every song is different. If we're talking clothes tho....neutral colors all the way.

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: I would LOVE to work with DWLLRS. I feel like they have a bedroom sound that I want to mess with and see where it goes.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: Don't overthink it.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: I usually work on hip hop but like I said, I'm open to whatever as long as I agree to work on it.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: Persistence.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: I highlight the best qualities and balance the rest based on what the client wants the song to FEEL like.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: Wherever the song takes me:)

  33. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  34. A: Other mixers I look up to are mixedbyali, Jon Castelli, Alex Tumay, Mike Dean, Teezio, Leslie Brathwaite, and the one and only Manny Marroquin. As far as production goes I HAVE to shout out Kenny Beats for being so inspiring.

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: I mix and master anything I agree to work on. I'm open to most genres of music and love putting the finishing touches on people's creations to make the sound FEEL better.
