Jamie McEvoy is an Irish born/UK based recording and mix engineer.
Raised just outside of Dublin on a steady diet of The Beatles, Radiohead and punk rock, Jamie began his career at Ireland's premier residential studio, Grouse Lodge. After 2 years of assisting Marc Carolan (FOH Muse) at Herbert Place Studios, he moved to London in 2016 to take up residency at Ben Hillier’s The Pool Studio in Bermondsey, South London. His 3 years there afforded him the chance to work with and learn from many of the UK's top producers and engineers, including Stephen Street, James Ford, Phill Brown, Cam Blackwood, and Rupert Christie.
Jamie has recorded and mixed on a varied list of projects. Recent clients include Paloma Faith, dodie, Skunk Anansie, Olivia Dean, Simian Mobile Disco, Genghar and Oh Wonder. He also provided vocal production on 9 songs of Paloma Faith's top 10 album “Infinite Things” in 2020.
As an engineer, he applies his love of depth, distortion and studio experiments in order to pursue exciting, energetic and punchy results. Always looking for something unique, he loves nothing more than running organic sounds through odd assortments of guitar pedals or crunching up drums through over driven preamps.
