I’ve recorded two full length albums and an EP at Altrefrequenze.
Giorgio is extremely professional, a careful expert who works hard on every single portion of sound or beat; he loves music and is actually able to “listen”, even if his approach is really exacting he never forgets to give a soul to his recording, always looking to customer’s needs

Altrefrequenze is the studio where with my acoustic band I've recorded two official works and many demos... Giorgio Reboldi, the sound engineer, is helpful and very qualified. Must try it!

Mi sono rivolto due volte allo studio Altrefrequenze, ed entrambe le volte ho ricevuto un ottimo servizio. Cortesia e professionalità sono lo zoccolo duro di questa sala di registrazione

Interview with AltreFrequenze Studio

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: The mix of a rock album and a hip hop EP.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: C3 Studio for EDM mix and mastering.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: Strong rope, reliable knife, fishing pole, headphones and Zoom H4 with A LOT OF batteries.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: We would like to work with anyone who makes music with passion and enthusiasm, anyone who believes in his/her own ideas and personal style.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: We usually work on every aspect of the recording and mixing with our clients, with particular attention to the details of sounds, and we finalize the job with the mastering process.

  11. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  12. A: After recording and mixing a song for an artist who had tried a lot of studios to finish his album, he decided to complete his project with us. He said: "This is exactly what I wanted. You are the only one who have understood what I need to express with my sound".

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Costumer: "Can we keep the sound faithful to the original?" AltreFrequenze: "Of course!"

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Essentially, the time required to achieve a fine result: sometimes people expect us to work very quickly, but every process needs to be well cared for.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What's your target? Ready to start?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Look for someone who is really involved in your personal music project.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: Everything started with our passion for music: ever since we were young we used to play in a band and we recorded songs trying to create the best album ever. After some years of studying and training in the audio engineering field we started working as technicians for live music and studio recording. In 2007 AltreFrequenze was born as a professional studio: it was the beginning of a team cooperation dealing with all aspects of music production.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: Simplify and feel the sound.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: We love working on the song's impact, on the sound feeling and on what it conveys. Every song includes personal experience and creative expression: the best way to achieve a good result is to understand what songs want to communicate.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: - Understand the artist and the product - Listen to the raw tracks and taking notes to get a job reference - Get the best technical setup ready - Work keeping in mind the final target

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: We love Mr. Rick Rubin's way of work.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Love for details.

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: Our setup is based on Avid Pro Tools and we have a very flexible signal flow. Depending on each artist's needs and music style, we can mix either with analog summing mixer and outboard or totally in the box. Our rooms are designed by Acoustic Design (now Studio Sound Service, Florence) and through Adam S2.5A and Custom Super Sound Cube monitors we can check and control sound in a very good way.

  35. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  36. A: Analog for straightforwardness, digital for flexibility. Can we take the best of both worlds?

  37. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  38. A: To be professional and genuine.

  39. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  40. A: Feeling what an artist wants to convey.

  41. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  42. A: Pop, Rock, Hard Rock and Electronic Pop/Rock Music
