Brockett Parsons

Music Producer, Keyboardist

Brockett Parsons on SoundBetter

I have played in Lady Gaga's band for 4 world tours from 2010 to present including her iconic Superbowl 2017 performance on my unique circular keyboard invention The PianoArc. I have also generated millions of views on Instagram playing my own beats on this one of a kind instrument.

I am a producer/keyboardist who has travelled the world many times and offer full song productions, as well as individual keyboard parts. I am currently working frequently in trap, hip hop, low fi, and EDM styles but I also have strong jazz, classical, and rock backgrounds, so I'm comfortable in a wide range of settings. My live beat videos have gone viral on Instagram and I have had many request for tracks from followers. To me the most important thing is capturing the vibe of the artist so they can reach the soul of their audience. Music is more important today than ever so I try to help the artist get that confidence to follow their dreams.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Just recently completed a ten song deal with Universal Production Music. This album specializes in jazzy musical sounding hip hop, in the style of J DILLA, Tribe Called Quest. Really loved creating and producing this sound. Also really enjoyed playing piano and keyboards on The Star Is Born Soundtrack.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Will be releasing a series of singles starting in June as follow up to my Ropeadope Records release, The Brockettship

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Mark Corradetti on bass is extremely professional

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I like a good combination of both.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to really listen to what their vision is and really capture the emotion and vibe that brings their music to life.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I just love creating music. The world need it more than ever now.

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Don't be afraid to really follow your dreams and enjoy the amazing process of creating music. Vibe and emotion is most important.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I started out as a session and gigging musician in NYC for years. I also worked long hours producing music for various groups in virtually every neighborhood in the tri state area. After appearing as a winner on an MTV music reality show called Making His Band with Pdiddy, I auditioned for and was chosen as the keyboard player for Lady Gaga's touring band. 300 arena shows and 4 world tours later I still am fortunate to hold that position today. I also have co created a new instrument called the Piano Arc, the world's first circular keyboard. Through some viral performance videos playing this unique controller I developed a strong IG following and have produced my own music and connected with people from all over the world. It has been an amazing ride.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: My style is a blend of almost everything. I like hard hitting beats as well as beautiful melodies and rich harmonic textures.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: I would love to work with Drake. I just think his vocals always cut through the beat in an extremely musical way.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: I work on everything from trap and hip hop to edm and jazz, rock and even classical. I love everything.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: listening and creating while still having empathy for the artist. I was a player first so I have good technique and a good understanding of harmony, sounds and rhythm. Knowing how to use these skills though, to really make the music shine is something I always strive for.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: The most important thing is to listen to the vision and understand the emotion and vibe of the artist. I then try to lift up and inspire within that context and ultimately take the music to the highest level possible.

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: Stevie Wonder, Dj PREMIER, Drake, Brain Eno, David Bowie, Skrillex, Zedd, Scott Storch, Dr Dre, Herbie Hancock, J dILLA

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: I am frequently contacted to make new hip hop, trap and edm pop style productions from scratch. I also have vast experience as a session keyboard player in a variety of styles and have played on countless projects for local, national, and international artists.
