Hey, I'm Nico. I'm 1/2 of a production duo with my sister, and together we create all things music. After being signed to an LA production company in 2015, we learned how to specialize in every area and aspect in the process of making a killer pop song. We can easily adapt to any sound/style, and our music is very commercial and radio-ready.
Music has and always will be the foundation of our life. We began our fifteen years of classical training in piano and music theory at age three, and simultaneously developed a love and obsession for pop music. We grew up at a time when music started to become widely accessible, which gave us the opportunity to discover, learn, and master the sound of pop music from older eras, as well as other genres such as rock, hip-hop, country, R&B, jazz, etc. Throughout our training, we developed absolute pitch which aided us in strengthening and perfecting our recording voices. All the while, we constantly studied the formulas and patterns of the biggest hit songs (and hitmakers) which led us to writing and eventually producing our own music.
While we may be young (19 & 20), we are the target demographic for today's music listeners, so we are well-acquainted with the styles of today's top artists (we can even accurately imitate them), as well as the overall sounds and genres that music consumers are gravitating towards in 2018. We liken ourselves to a machine, because we sing, write, produce, edit, mix, and master -- which are jobs usually done by several different people. We have an undeniable drive and focus to make a great product.

Interview with Nico Collins
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: -Laptop -Microphone -Pre-AMP -Midi Keyboard -Headphones
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I have what I call "Musical ADHD", so I'm inspired by so many different artists across multiple genres, but if I had to choose my biggest inspiration, I would say it would be Max Martin. I grew up in the 2000's, so almost every massive pop radio hit was his work. Not knowing he was responsible for so many popstars' careers, I observed and discovered the formulas (structure, placement of melodies and lyrics, etc.) of popular songs by different artists that I would hear on the radio as a kid. This was essentially how I taught myself how to write a commercial pop song. When I started to research the power players of the industry, I wasn't surprised to find out so many of my favorite songs were the creations made by the same person. Not only has he made classic hits; he set a precedent and expectation as far as how general music listeners expect a mainstream pop song to sound in this day and age, which I think is particularly fascinating.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm typically sought out for my voice on demo recordings. I have a very pop-radio friendly recording voice, in a similar vein of Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, The Weeknd, etc. Additionally, I have also provided mixing/mastering services, pop/hip-hop beats, and melodic/lyric toplines with great feedback.
