Consider me your only stop for all your vocal needs. Whether I'm recording and editing myself for your track or tuning and editing your performance, you are guaranteed to get a vocal that's perfectly in the pocket and tuned to your taste. I love developing working relationships with all my clients, so let's talk!
I studied voice for 4 years in college and my degree is in Recording Engineering. I learned editing during a summer internship in Nashville, TN and have been working as a freelance engineer for the last 5 years. My primary work is with vocals, but I also edit instruments, produce and mix. I am also the vocalist, producer and primary engineer for my band Nearly York.
Why use me?
My background as a trained vocalist allows me to approach engineering and vocal editing with a musicality that I find is sometimes missing with other engineers.
Why do I not have a set price for vocal tuning/comping?
Many of my clients hire me to tune and align multiple vocal tracks. Because of this, I like to customize quotes for clients based on a $35/hr hourly rate after taking a look at the files being sent to me. The final quote depends on the number of files and the amount of work they will require, but I rarely need more than 2 hours to complete a vocal editing session and I will stick to my initial quote even if I go beyond my estimate!
What can you expect if you hire me to sing?
I have a high tenor voice that fits a variety of genres. All my vocals are recorded through a Slate ML-1 microphone and tuned/edited. I like to send a version with my processing chain on it along with a flat version so you have options when mixing it in!

I hired Lucas to tune and comp a lead vocal. Lucas was amazing to work with! He responded quickly and made sure I was happy with the final product. I will definitely be using him again.
Lucas has done extensive editing and vocal tuning for multiple singles by my band, Morning Trips. I find outsourcing to someone with not only trained, but fresh ears to work with such a big ingredient that is a top-line, leads to a more objective and refreshing result for the song. Lucas's background as a singer and engineer lends itself to create positive results for each artist who trusts to have him on board with the project.
