Interview with Emerian Sound and Media
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: killswitch engage, rings of saturn, jimmy douglass, eddie kramer, micheal brauer
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: start with talking client on how many tracks need work and services needed, i will review tracks and (if needed) i will talk about any revisions in the recording of the song (if possible, anything good coming in is good coming out, i want to give you the best), basic mixing, track editing (if anything drastic will talk to client about chnages), full mix, if mastering is needed will wait one day and go back to finish mastering, will give a WAV. file through email (or whatever i specify) and will ask if i could use the mix for my own portfolio, if yes then i will post the song on my soundcloud with artist credentials
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: a great mixdown of your music in a well treated, friendly and organized home studio, i'm still learning but that has not stopped my mixes from being remotely bad, I have no doubt that my mixes and services will not disappoint you
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ability to listen to the artist and give them want they want
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: i typically would prefer metal genre music, but i have received mainly jazz, RnB music and hip hop which I have done very well, i hope to expand my music portfolio with all genres
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: rings of saturn, would be a very good challenge for me, especially with aaron stechauners drumming.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: computer, monitors, interface, guitar, microphone
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: try to have the best recorded tracks you can so we can give you the best mix we can, Be prepared for us to say something about bad recording or performance when we take a look at it, dont take it in a bad way either! we want to help you guys succeed and it starts with your performance/what goes in the microphone
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your goals? What can i do to help you? How can we work together to help the success of you and my studios future? What is your budget? How can you help my studio if i help give you what you need?
