It was a pleasure to work with Igor. Things came out much better than we thought. We are so proud and happy that the production has this mighty fat modern major sound. Absoultelly recommendable.

Interview with Igor Rogovic

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: My promise is that they will love the way that their song will sound after being mixed

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I love opening a new project and listening to the song for the first time and then taking that song to a new level

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: After graduating high school, I went to SAE instutue and got a degree in audio engineering. I have been working with bands for over a decade.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: I would describe my style as punchy.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I usually work on Pop, Rock and Heavy music. And I love mixing different genres of music because that keeps my ears fresh

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: I would say that my strongest skill is that I am very precise. And having a very good ear

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: I have a small setup that works well for me. It is my home studio with the equipment that I have been using for many years and I am very used to.

  15. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  16. A: I was the producer and mix engineer for the 2nd Diaries Of A Hero album and that was one of my favorite recording and mixing experiences. We recorded everything with minimum equipment and maximum excitement and the we are so proud with the final result. You can listen to their album on Spotify

  17. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  18. A: I just finished a debut album for a rock band called Slow Motion Suicide from Croatia and am mixing the new Diaries of A Hero album

  19. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  20. A: I know a very good drummer called Michael Kolar for anyone that is interested in drum services

  21. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  22. A: Both. Good analog equipment to record, stay digital or hybrid during the mixing process all the way to mastering, then analog master. I believe that if everything is recorded on good analog equipment it doesn't really make sense to convert D-A and then back A-D. I prefer mixing in the box and maybe using some analog inserts for color. Recalls are so much easier, faster and completely precise with digital. But I definitely prefer analog masters, because that opens up the stereo spectrum and just makes it sound more "alive"

  23. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  24. A: I ask them what their influences are, and how do they envision their song.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Keep it simple and and keep it in tune :)

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: I believe that my expertise and experience can bring a new and exciting energy to the song.

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: When it comes to mixing, I am big fan of Chris Lord Alge, John Feldmann, Jeff Juliano, Joe Barresi

  31. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  32. A: I would love to work with

  33. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  34. A: Laptop, Shure SM-7, Audio-Technica M50, Neve 1073 and any sound card

  35. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  36. A: Make sure you like some of the work that your next mix engineer has done. And ask questions
