Cheshy's world class! She delivered incredible vocal performances that took two tracks to a whole new energy level, very well recorded and produced, with loads of creative options for harmonies and backing vocals. She went above and beyond what i expected, and was a pleasure to work with. I will happily work with her again on future tracks. Highly recommended!!

Chessy replied with a great demo featuring a lot of backing vocal ideas for me to digest. What I really like is that Cheshy was able to bring out the soul in a bridge section of my song, but also tame things down a little, once asked, in a chorus section. It's always hard to tell on a first demo how a song is going to take shape and, for this kind of work, performers are only as good as the feedback they can take and use. Chessy got where I was coming from, and after one revision, we were done.

she did exactly what we were looking for! :) we can only recommend!
Interview with Chelsea (Cheshy) Reynolds
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mickey Shiloh, Davey Nate, Carlos Battey, Prince Chappelle and Jenny Lyric. They're all fantastic musicians.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Ooh, this is a hard one. I love SZA, Solange, Masego and a ton of other alternative R&B acts.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was especially pleased about a recent cover I did of a disco classic. The delivery was so spot-on.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on an Anime Cover project and my new album simultaneously.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I love the warmth of analog, but I require the "quality of life" attributes that digital offers.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to work with you, until we produce a project you can be proud of.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Freedom and a pretty open schedule.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Clients mostly want to know about schedules for projects. It really depends on the scope of the project...no timeframe is the same tbh.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy, or that anyone could do it. Actually, it can be pretty hard sometimes to be creative on demand.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What feeling are you looking for in this project? What do you want it to convey? What's your budget? LOL
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be very specific about what you want. Especially, when it comes to the feel and timbre of a project. I'm pretty intuitive, but I want to make sure I get your project just right.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Everything on my gear list. It's the perfect low profile set-up for a professional sound.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Wow. I began my training at 12 years old. I have written professionally for 5 years, I started performing at age 2.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as clean, and baroque at the same time. I love harmony and intricate arrangement.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Masego! I love how versatile and talented he is.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Enunciate. LOL
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic, but I also do a ton of pop and disco too.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is delivery. I studied acting so I really know how to sell a song. Also, I can sing in most languages.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think I bring a unique voice, clarity and power.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It really depends on the project. If I am writing for a client, I will listen over and over to the track until I feel inspired. Othertimes, I know exactly what I want to do from jump or i'll improvise. Every song is different.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a MacBook Air, Scarlette Solo, AKG C214 and AudioTechnica headphones. I record in Protools and I love Air and Waves plug-ins.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mostly, I am contracted for Funk, House and Soul songs.
