Our mixing approach is to make sure the main parts of the song are creatively driven throughout the whole song, without compromising the little nuances that make a song unique. We love working with people who have that same goal in mind, to make the song as great as possible! There is nothing better than collaborating with people who like to bounce ideas off each other. Interview with LOSSOUNDS
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Always hire a company or a professional that is honest, transparent, credible and has a high quality of work!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: We usually listen to the song a couples times, then listen to any roughs. From there we kind of get an idea in our heads about what we want to do. We start with simple edits, eqs, compression and etc to all of the main parts of the song. Once we have a good balance of that, we will move on to the rest of the song until its done.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Any projects that I work on for BOE. I'm given a lot of creative mix control. We work together to get the best result!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, why not use the best of both!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We promise to always put my best foot forward.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: We love making things sound amazing!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is the time line for the project/song? What exactly are you looking to get out of the mix? Do you have any specific examples that you would like me to reference?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Computer, Dangerous 2 Bus, Burl B2, Burl B1's, NS-10's.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing songs so that they can compete with top songs of today!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Open, clean, modern and vibey.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: No one in particular, just anybody who likes my work and likes the process of making a song/project/film fun.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Take your time when putting together a song/project/film. Every decision matters! Don't just "fix it in the mix"
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: R&B, Pop, Hip-hop, and Gospel.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A highly professional modern sound! Our mixes are very open, clean but hard hitting at the same time. We would say our mixes are top 40 sounding.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have a very modern hybrid setup. We have a combo of dangerous and burl products, as far as analog goes. On the digital side, I use slate, UA and various other plugins. We are Pro Tools users.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Any song or album that has a dope vibe with a great sonic quality! I love when I hear something that just sounds like it's "it"!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing for final release!
