I'm a formally trained musician and producer with 10 years of production experience. I specialize in composing with Ableton Live and will work with you to define your unique style and create a polished sound.
On top of synth and sample based production, I play guitar, bass, drums, and keys to give a natural feeling to tracks.

Interview with Zack Zukowski
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People often can't tell what was performed live and what was programmed in my music. It all blends.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What 3 albums inspire you the most?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure that you find someone who understands the style you are going for and is passionate about your project.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Yamaha dtx multi 12 drum machine, Mini-brute analog synth, laptop, speakers, Neuman U 87 (everything I need to make tracks)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing guitar when I was 6, my first band when I was 13, recording and producing in college, engineering live sound and touring though my twenties. Now i'm bringing all my experience together to make the best music I can with talented artists.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Kenrick Lamar, because his style is very technical yet catchy.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you have a basic melody that needs something extra, begin doubling your melody lines with other instruments or voices to create unique hybrid sounds that sound bigger and more interesting.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I love hip-hop, trap, electronic pop, and chill-wave/downtempo
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: With a strong background in effects processing, synthesis, I can provide artists with a richer pallet of colors and textures to paint a song from.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A great ear for rhythm and melody and the technical knowledge to bring ideas to life.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I play as much in live as possible to build a handcrafted sound. I like to compose in Ableton or Bitwig and often do my final mix in Protools.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an extensive electronic music setup with hardware samplers, synths, keyboards, guitars, electronic drums, dbx tube preamps. I create songs with protools and ableton using KRK Rokit 8's for monitoring.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Flying Lotus, Major Lazer, Will.i.am, Ellie Goulding, Tove Lo, Flume, Cashmere Cat, CHVRCHES
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I can create everything but the top line of a pop song and mix it down to have the right punch, texture and space.
