Mixes - Guitar/Keyabord tracks

Matías Maglio on SoundBetter

Hi! I'm a Matías and I love working with other people and their music. I have a lot of experience both as a musician and a audio engineer which allows me to deliver professional level tracks for your songs. I can mix or master your songs or record guitar/keyboard tracks for them! Can't wait to hear your music and make something awesome together!

I love music since I was a kid and growing up I did everything I could think of to base my life on music making. That led me to study Music and then Audio Engineering. As a musician I'm a graduate Music and Piano teacher and I've been playing Guitar from the beginning of my journey. Then I studied Audio Engineering on an Audio School in Buenos Aires.

After my studies I started working as an assistant on a top Mastering Studio from South America, Puro Mastering. That experience is one of the most grateful I am for. Not only I could learn a lot about Audio Engineering from great professionals but I also got to work on a vast variety of musical projects every day and learn the ins and outs of their productions. During this time I've also worked on my own, producing, recording and mixing bands. Nowadays I also work on Puro Mastering as a Mastering engineer.

As a performer I've played a ton of shows on local bands both as a guitarist and a keyboard player. I was also the pianist of an Orchestra here in Buenos Aires. I've also recorded Guitar and Keyboard on a lot of tracks.

Over the years while I was improving my skills I created and perfected my personal space, called Dínamo, for working on all my music projects.

But that's enough about me! I want to hear about you and your music so we can work together on making it a reality. Contact me through the green button above!

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Matías Maglio

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I started as a musician playing on local bands. At this phase I learned a lot about music production from my band's producer and from recording multiple albums. Then after studying audio engineering I started working at Puro Mastering, a top South America Mastering Studio where I got a lot of experience both in music production and audio engineering. When I got really confident with my skills as a musician and as an audio engineering I started my own YouTube channel where I perform cover songs. Nowadays I work on my YouTube channel as my personal project while I work on audio and produce other bands.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: Twenty One Pilots is the band of the moment for me. Working or collaborating with them would be awesome. I love their songs, how they sound, and the production quality for their songs.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Make sure every element on the song has its place. If you want to add something check if it doesn't conflict with something else and if it does which one should play a more important rol. Filters and substractive EQs are really powerful to make more room for everything.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I will do my best to make your music sound the way it sounds in your head.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Materializing musical ideas into something everyone can experience.

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: I try to always bring clarity to a song so it can shine its best the way the author always intended.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: I work with Reaper as my DAW of choice because I really like the amount of workflow customization it offers. When I start working I have all my templates and configuration that I've put together over time for working as efficiently as possible.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: I mostly work on Rock/Pop music, it's the genre that I know the most. However I have plenty experience in other genres (including Folk, Reggae, EDM, among others) mostly from working on a big Mastering Studio.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: I like to think of choosing a professional the same way as you would chose an instrument, by how it sounds. To me every music and audio professional has a particular sound and you should chose someone whose sound you really like. I always aspire to sound a way a lot of customers can relate to.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: A computer, an audio interface, a guitar, a keyboard and a pair (if possible) of speakers.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: I like to be daring and bold while being precise and concise at the same time.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: Willingness and maintaining a positive attitude.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: When I think about my studio setup all that's in my head is my computer, my audio interface and my monitoring and I'm really happy with al off them. I work 100% in the box so the setup is quite simple. It's no excuse for the lack of equipment but I prefer to have the simplest setup so my workflow is as fluent as possible. I genuinely don't feel like there is something that I can't achieve on my studio due to not having a particular piece of gear.

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: I really got inspired by musicians that go beyond their playing or their instrument and understand the music as a whole. For me that's the best way to serve what the song really needs. Artist like Matt Bellamy or Gustavo Cerati are the first ones that I have to name but there are a lot of musicians that I admire that way.
