After graduating, I freelanced at a recording studio for a couple of years, returning to University in 2014 to study a masters degree in music. Now I work as a freelance mixing engineer and audio blogger.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Rock, pop, indie, acoustic & folk

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: A fresh pair of ears

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: I start by preparing the session with things like gain staging and the setup of instrument buses and effects buses. Then I create a static mix with levels and panning. Next I gate the drums (if appropriate) and then equalize and compress each track/bus as required. I then add things like reverb and delay, and then add automation of effects, levels, panning etc.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
