Interview with Estudio Rafael Costa

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I work in Estudio since 2006, my way like others was not and is not so easy. I started mixing on a tape deck on the old tapes, I used a 4-channel sound table at the time and everything started to happen.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: the biggest misunderstanding is putting yourself above the song and story of the artist. this does not value the work, much less the art of Music

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: What are your references? What are you looking for with your song?

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I would love to have the opportunity to mix a song from singer Phil Collins, he is undoubtedly part of my musical training.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: One tip I want to share is always to be as simple as possible in arrangements, so the letter and message can project better and bring much more emotion.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: pop rock , gospel, funk, soul music and others.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: Every song is a song! each added color makes all the difference, and I bring this to every song I work in, giving evidence for what's best in each one of them.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: Currently my workflow is very compact if summed up in, Apogee / tc electronic converters, Protools, Rocktron effect processor, waves Plugins and Slate Digital.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: I am inspired by many works of great engineers such as Chris Lord Alge, Tony Maserati, Michael Brauer, among others and above all the respect I learned to respect Music.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: As an audio engineer, I always do my best for every sound. Always giving priority to transmit the emotion that the music printed me.
