Multi - Awarded guitar player

I admire all kinds of music and have developed an especially strong bond to the metal genre. Been anxious several times but I have always managed to use anxiety as motivation to adapt to new situations. A habit that has carried over to my work ethos for which I am known. While I am hungry for new experiences I am also saturated enough to be able to produce high quality work on a constant level - as my dedication and passion for music is only matched by my professionalism. With a broad spectrum of cultural influences, my musical horizon provides a flexible base for active contribution in the process of creation. While speaking of being flexible: I am able and willing to pack up my equipment and meet you in your studio anywhere in the world if you share the same passion as I do. I am very social and love to embrace people. Since I believe that respect and friendliness are the pillars of humanity I often find myself surrounded by gentle personalities. We are all touring and playing in the same world - why not do it together, friend?

Interview with Kiriakos GP

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Two albums are in progress. First one is for the female hard rock band "Swanson and Naya". Second one is my second instrumental guitar album.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: We will definetely figure out the perfect thing for you.

  5. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  6. A: -Hi Kiriakos do you use wah pedal? -Yes! I love wah pedal! -Nice. I wouldn't like a wah pedal in my song. -Sure! Let's make the perfect song for you without a wah pedal.

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: Following me on social media there are a lot of shred, instant improvisation videos of mine. This makes the misconception that my playing is always fast. That's definitely not true!

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: I ask for their influences and the guitar sounds they love most.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Perfectly know how exactly you want your music to sound.

  13. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  14. A: That would be a perfect chance to practice all day an get better. So, I would pick my Charvel guitar, battery charged amp (I hope they'll come and get me after the batteries are dead), smartphone, headphones, cable.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I play the guitar for over 20 years. After working with several bands from different backrounds and genres I decided 6 years ago to get into the guitar music production professionaly.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: Technique, phrasing, feeling, memorable melodies.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: Discussion with the client about what exactly he wants. I create several guitar sample recordings for the client so that we can choose the perfect sound for his project (amp models, cabs, FXs, compressions etc). I start writing the guitar parts based on the first discussion. Send them to the client back for feedback. Working again and send them back. All this procedure until we find the perfect thing. Then I record the final guitar parts (DI tracks included).

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: Specific genres of solos and rythms can be delivered while my personal style and phrasing may be added as well if asked.

  25. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  26. A: Both work good for me. I mostly prefer digital. Gives me so many choices. But the client makes the final choice.

  27. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  28. A: Music is my passion and comes effortless through me. Making a living through this as a job makes me happy and excited.

  30. A: I am more comfortable in hard rock and heavy metal.
