CSG Productions is amazing! The service here is top top notch with fantastic skills in post production. When I started to lose interest in a song I was producing and thought about abandoning the project, CSG Productions put a new spark into it and made it come alive again. The final product was awesome!!!!

Interview with CSG Productions

What are you working on at the moment?
Currently working on a new Christian album, a new hard rock group, an up and coming POP artist, and a New Age EP.
Analog or digital and why?
Digital because everything is right at you fingertips, easy to manipulate and powerful.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
I PROMISE that they will get a professional project, and that they will be happy or they do not have to buy the product.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Just about any good engineer can mix any kind of music. Be clear on what you want. Pick someone that is easy to talk to and can understand what you are looking for. Old samples may or may not be indicative of what they can do for you.
How would you describe your style?
I have two styles. Depending on what my client wants. I like to produce most of my music so it sounds the way I would picture it if it was being played live. I want listeners to believe they are at the concert. Second, if the client wants a very produced studio sound, I like to hear it very clean, with all the parts creating a sound that surrounds the listener. I spread it sround so that it sounds huge.
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
I would actually like to work with Chris Lord-Alge. That man is a genius. The way he gets separation and clarity is just amazing.
Can you share one music production tip?
The better the recording, the better the mix. If the recordings are done well, and in the style that the client wants it to sound like, then it's usually pretty easy to get the sound that the client is looking for.
What type of music do you usually work on?
I like everything. I don't have a preference. A good song is a good song.
What's your strongest skill?
Finding the sound that my clients want. I will never be happy if they aren't happy. It doesn't always happen after the first mix but it ALWAYS happens before I'm finished.
What do you bring to a song?
I bring the ability to "listen" to my clients and "hear" what THEY want out for the song. It doesn't have to agree with what I think because it's THEIR song. I will give suggestions but in the end they are paying ME to give them what they want.
What's your typical work process?
The first thing I do is take my clients files and put them in a static mix. Working only volumes adjustments. Then I study the song. I listen for those parts that move me and then I start panning to get a feel for space. My next task is to place it back in mono and to start carving EQ's for each instrument so I can hear everything the way I believe it should be heard. After EQ (in most cases) I work with compression until my mix sounds like it could be finished. Lastly I start adding effects like reverb and delay, where it sounds good and then I study the song again. Did what I change make a positive difference? If not, I go back and make more changes. I don't send it back to the client until I'm satisfied. At that point I ask for my client to tell me what they do or don't like. And we keep going until THEY are happy.
Tell us about your studio setup.
Presonus Studio One Pro 2, Waves Silver, Waves Musician 2, CLA Production Suite, CLA classic compressors, JBL LSR308's, Yamaha Hs7's, PRS guitars, Marshall amps.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
Mixing songs that have already been recorded. Editing, vocal tuning, EQ, Compression, effects, balancing and panning. Mastering using various plug in software.
