Hey, I'm Hannes. I love electric guitars, sound and every kind of experimenting with it.

I'm a live and studio guitarist. I like to develope sounds on my guitar that carry from muddy roots Blues to modern styles like pop and disco and even further to soundscapes where you can't even recognize the guitar as guitar anymore. To me it's important that the sound is always organic and vivid.

Hannes is a very creative guitar player with superb sounds and great ideas! Besides that he is a very nice and open minded guy who is willing to go the extra mile and experiment to get the desired sound/tone!
I absolutly love working with him as he is very focused but never stressed. I can highly recommend him as a session guitarist or for your next tour! :-D

Interview with Hannes Donel

Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
René Jesser - superb audio engineer
Analog or digital and why?
Analog, because the whole approach is more creative and organic. Once it's all there, the music and the sound, you can go digital to have an easier life on tour or in the studio.
If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
One acoustic guitar.
How would you describe your style?
Sound is my style.
Can you share one music production tip?
Reduce everything down to the minimum (musically wise).
What's your strongest skill?
What do you bring to a song?
Guitar - Sound - Aesthetics
What's your typical work process?
At first listening. After that I try to hear what I can contribute to the music. Then playing.
Tell us about your studio setup.
My mind -> my fingers -> my guitar -> a bunch of noise making gear -> Two-Notes Torpedo -> Motu Ultralite AVB Interface -> Logic X -> your ears
