Bruno Caro on SoundBetter

Hi, Im' Bruno, producer and guitarist from Buenos Aires with vast experience in arrangements, sound alike and original productions for artists, jingles and dance music. Graduate musician and audio technician, working free lance and Buenos Aires based electronic artist in world known record labels like Plattenbank and Stripped Recordings since 2015.

I'm looking forward to work with your new project!

My background comes from the alternative-fusion sides of rock and pop and electronic, always very influenced by jazz and improvisation.

I produce original music, remixes and cover tracks, from recording stage of the song to the mixing and mastering.

My work trained me into achieving the sound of the top tracks of the house, techno, EDM, and rock music industry, making ghost production, sound alike and cover tracks for singers and backing track companies.

Personally I'm into electronic and alternative music, analog synthesis and sound design. I've released music in labels like Plattenbank, Stripped Recordings among others, having support of world known artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur among others.

Im always looking forward to work on something new and meet new artists! I'm willing to maintain a proper communication and feedback.

Don't hesitate to ask!

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Interview with Bruno Caro

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I've composed and produced the track "Apollo" which was part of a compilation of the album "Secrets #1" released in Tel Aviv's label "Plattenbank". The label belongs to Guy Mantzur, one of my all time favorite electronic artists and the track was played live in a lot clubs around the world to a great audience.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm working with cover tracks for singer and ringtones purposes, and also making original electronic music for my personal live project.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I know Candela Cibrian [Della] because she worked with a few people we have in common. She's an amazing artist and singer! Top voice and audio technician.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I kind of hate that question! Hahaha.. Because I'm right in the middle. I love analog and acoustic instruments, since I'm a guitar player, but I'm also very into sound design and digital audio, computers brought a universe of infinite possibilities.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: We will get "there"! The options are endless, we just have to find the right path. I'm very open minded to almost any kind of music, the key is to keep it legit and professional.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love music and everything around it. What I enjoy the most is to create something new, and eventually play it live!

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: -Can you show me some of your work? Sure, I'll send some samples -How much do you charge? It depends on the quantity and type of work, but something between $100 and $300 per song/project aprox. -How can we get this done? How is the work process? It depends on what works for you, but I'll send some ideas to have feedback, and then continue the process of modifications/corrections with a fluid communication.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I guess people sometimes think that my work is electronic-based and beat-making only, but I'm academically trained in harmony, composing and arranging so I can also bring music ideas to the project in a more "classical" approach.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: -Style/Sound-wise, which are your top priorities in the project? -Deadline?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Please feel free to ask me and tell me everything you need for your project! The better idea I have of your needs, the better result we can achieve!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: A computer, a Fender American Statocaster, an analog Synth, an audio interface/mixer, and a MIDI controller.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been making and playing music live for 10 years in different projects and bands, and my professional work started around 5 years ago.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is a mix of groovy, alternative and electronic elements with a modern and obscure sound, influenced by stuff that you can hear in bands like Massive Attack, Radiohead, or producers like Tale Of Us, Stephan Bodzin among others.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to work with people like Tom York, Hans Zimmer, Bjork, Daft Punk, to name a few. Because I really admire artists that push the boundaries forward of music language and production, always bringing something new to the table.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: I sometimes find saying to myself that "less is more"! Always put the music intention or "message" first. Nowadays with the technology we have at our hands It's very common to throw a lot of ideas to the table and then ending up with a nonsense-giant sort of song that goes nowhere. Sometimes It's very important to stay minimalist and soulful.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually get stuff within the styles of Pop, EDM, Eectronic, Underground Dance Music, Hip Hop, Trap, Rock and Funk.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill would be arranging and producing a song with a hybrid of electronic and analog elements.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I love composing, arranging, remixing and sound design, so I work from a suggested melody, a chord sequence, a vocal sample, or a beat. I'm also an academical trained guitar player, so I also record solos and arrangements when it fits.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: It depends on the kind of work, but I usually work on a first "mix" or "example" to get some feedback, and then start adjusting the finest aspects of it until we get to the best result. The key is to have a fluid communication.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio consists of a recording setup for Electric and Acoustic guitars and samples, and a vast sound-design PC rig containing the latest professional audio software and VST instruments. I also own an Analog Roland Synthesizer ("Mini Moog" kind of character).

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I love the sounds of alternative and modern artists like Radiohead, Massive Attack, Gorillaz, The Internet, Flying Lotus, Jungle, Hernan Cattaneo, Stephan Bodzin, among others, always very focused in groove, sound and harmonies. Its so hard to pick a few!!

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: My work usually has to do with recording, remixing, programming beats and composing/arranging songs for singers, commercials, electronic artists, etc.
