Interview with Fabian Egger

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That because of my Credits I might not want or might not be affordable to work on your project. Music is my passion and I'm always trying to be a part of as many creative endeavour as I possibly can.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The excitement of my Clients when the finished product ends up well past of where they have previously imagined it to end up at.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I executive produced European Pop Star Luca Hännis latest album "When we wake up" together with my 2 writing and production partners. We wrote, produced and recorded the whole album in 2 weeks start to finish. I'm very happy with the outcome.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Satisfaction
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career was a bit backwards. I got out of school and almost immediately got the Musical Directing job for Big Sean. That was a huge task and I kind of picked up the tools as I was going. I had to learn very fast.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Anybody that's passionate about their Music.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Many times, less is more. Especially in 2017
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Being a chameleon from one project to another. I always blend into the music, not the other way around. It's about my client, not about me. One day it could be Country and the other Day EDM. I promise to always make it 100% authentic.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Emotions and Life
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: There is many approaches but usually I like to just sit with the Clients Ideas and pick their brain so I can really see what they're going for. Once I have a clear picture of the Vision I'm getting started with a few ideas and while I keep checking back in with the Client I build the record step by step until we get it to where it needs to be at.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Absolutely everything that hits my ear. Either in a positive or a negative way. That's what has helped me get to where I am today and it's what helps me build my musical character daily.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: On the forefront I help produce and write music to the clients taste and can provide the connection to get some of the industries top musicians to play on your records. On the back end, I'm a Musical Director and can execute the Vision of your Live Performance.
