Interview with Kevin Ronan
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a 5 song EP with my band, City of Dis right now. I'm also working on practicing mixing as well as getting more experience at my current internship at Q Division Studios in Boston.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I work in digital right now because I haven't had any experience in analog yet. But I am interested in learning to use and implement analog in my work.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Communication is key whenever you're working in a creative situation with others. Being up front about your stylistic goals, schedule, and business aspects (i.e. financial, managerial, etc.) will help get your project done faster and as you imagined it.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with Dream Theater. They're excellent musicians and amazing songwriters, and their production value is insane. I would be excited just to be an assistant in their recording sessions to see how they work and operate in the studio.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on heavy metal and hard rock music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is my strong situational awareness and my ability to work well with others.
