Interview with Nexo 101 Mastering
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Drop me a line talking about your project, is the best way we can understand what is best for your music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do a lot of mastering for electronic, rock and pop music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all, I talk to my client to know the intention of the registration and what he or she expects from me. Then I usually dominate the disk. The next day, before sending the final teachers, I verify everything in our Quality Control system. Then, when my client has already approved the work, I send it to him.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: ave been doing this for 24 years ... I started like everyone else, being an assistant in a recording studio. After the appropriate time making records, I became a mastering engineer.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: A lot of them ask about the mix itself and about levels. I offer a feedback from the technical side about the mix. This way, my clients can improve the mix and I can do a better work. About levels, All I tell to them is that they have to be careful with the clipping. I can't make it great if we have clipping.
