Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Singing has always been and always will be my passion. I feel truly blessed to do what I love for a living.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They usually ask if I feel like I can sing their song- I tell them, "yes!'
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I don't commonly encounter people with misconceptions about my work.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of style/vibe would they like the song to have?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Do your research to find the best fit for your project.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Computer, microphone, interface, headphones and keyboard.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working as a session vocalist for 5 years and am the lead singer of 2 bands. I also produce music for other artists and shoot music videos.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: It's difficult for me to say because I love singing all kinds of vocal styles.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I love to collab with hip-hop artists.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure that your transients look healthy and always practice proper microphone control!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop, EDM, Country and everything in between...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ability to sing in multiple vocal styles.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I have the ability to fully immerse myself in each and every song- I can sing any genre and ensure that the vocal style I use fits the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Typically a client will send me as much info about the song as they can (demo, backing track, vocals) and I sing and record the track in my studio.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a professional production studio at my home- I use Logic X to record and my favorite microphone currently is my Sure Sm7b.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A few of my inspirations are; Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, the list goes on... I also have a lot of respect for female artists that write and produce their own music. I believe its important to educate yourself as much as possible in many different aspects in music rather than focusing on only one thing.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I provide top-notch vocals for full-length songs including backup vocals and harmonies- I also write lyrics and can professionally mix my vocals as well.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am proud of every project I do and always look forward to hearing the end result.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My debut album :-)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not currently.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm going to have to say both. Nothing beats that analog sound and I'm fascinated with the idea that the same sound wave can never be recreated (in analog) but I also love the creative freedom that comes with making music digitally.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that they will be pleased with the vocals I provide and I will work with them to ensure the best possible result.
