I am a drummer with experience in the music industry recording drums in the studio. Currently, I'm operating a tour bus with a studio. I can track your session with a team of elite musicians or just fly drums tracks for you to dump in your own rig.

My name is Brad Roberts and I am a drummer that can record your drum tracks, then fly them to you in WAV files. You will receive a 1TB hard drive with all your master files upon completion of agreement. I need a scratch acoustic and vocal track. I love to play the Blues and Rock, but Country is my forte. I've worked with many acts covering a variety of styles in both Live and Studio situations. I'm a pocket player (but not a machine) with influence from bands like: The Tractors, BR549, Asleep At The Wheel, Hank III, Hillbilly Casino, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Jamey Johnson and Leon Russel. Growing up, the music that influenced me was Southern Gospel and Classic Country but I have also played Hard Rock and Progressive Metal. I look forward to working with you at completing your songs with taste and accuracy. It's a simple process and I encourage you to try recording by file sharing. See how modern times has allowed us to collaborate easily with many different players that may not have normally been available for your session. I also can bring you into my studio and record live with players of your choice. Should you have any questions feel free to text or call me at (205) 604-9438

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Interview with Brad Roberts Drums

Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
There are so many...... Not sure where to start Matt Mason, Chad Wilson, Shane Pons, Tyler Farr, John Riggins, Tim Angsten, Vince Rayburn, Jamie Wolf, The Home Wreckers and I could just go on....... I hope I haven't left anyone out. I'm sorry if I did. All of these projects I played drums.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am working with Matt Mason on his projects currently as Tour Manager/Drummer both live and studio applications.
Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
Lee Kelly, Jason James, Chad Gantt, Tim Angsten
Analog or digital and why?
I prefer the good old analog sound because its much more full and not so fake sounding. Nothing like a great kit and good Mic's for that undeniable full drum kit sound. Any idiot can push a button, but can you actually play the part?
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
I will get you the quality tracks you deserve and I will make everything right no matter what it takes!
What do you like most about your job?
I do what I want, when I want, as much as I want. I live to play everyday! I get to play drums or drive the bus, so life isn't half bad!!!
What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
How much will it cost? Quality doesn't have to cost big bucks but you get what you pay for. i never let anything Sub-Par leave my studio!
What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
That I am rich and I make a lot of money playing "Rockstar" and riding on a big bus. Its actually not that way at all. I am just out trying to make a living at what I love to do and spending as much time as i can at home with my family.
What questions do you ask prospective clients?
What is it your looking to do with your song or songs? What kind of sound are you going for? What Instrumentation? what is your budget?
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Read the fine print. If somebody ask you to sign anything, study the scenario very closely and know every little detail before proceeding
If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
Harmonica, Acoustic Guitar, Kick Drum, Snare Drum, iPad
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
This is my career path. I have been involved in music business since conception, literally. My parents had a Southern Gospel band that travel full time. I was in church sometimes 7 days a week. I rode a bus until my father taught me to drive when I was only 13 years old. A brave soul he is. I learned a lot about music playing with him and how a Drummer and Bass should gel. I am 4th generation musician. Every decision I have made in life has revolved around music......
How would you describe your style?
Aggressive yet Tasty with a smooth finish. Its all about timing!
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
The artist who is undiscovered because we have a chance to bring something new and fresh to the table that the world has not yet heard.
Can you share one music production tip?
Play less and work more! You have to let the song breath.
What type of music do you usually work on?
Country is my forte.
What's your strongest skill?
They don't call me shuffles for nothing!
What do you bring to a song?
Rock solid timing and smooth feel are my strong suit I think.....
What's your typical work process?
I start with a simple idea and build a song. Basically a scratch vocal and acoustic track. Next, I make a chart before I track a simple drum part. Then track Bass and Guitar to get a strong melody. Then I go back in and write drum parts to fit song and put my own little twist to it.
Tell us about your studio setup.
I am set up in a sound proof environment at Diamond Sound Studios. I have a great sounding kit mic'd with awesome Mic's. I'm running Protools 12 HD with a Persons Interface and ART Preamp. I can track a Bass, Guitar and Drums at the same time.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
Tony Brown, Rick Rueben, Paul Liem
Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
I track drums for published writers and demo sessions for various publishing companies and record companies. I am a country player for the most part.
