Interview with Jobam Martins

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My second album entitled "Similarity". I composed and recorded the songs in 2020 when I was in isolation in my home. The process was very hard and when I finished composing,recording and saw the artwork finished I felt the best feeling I experienced in my music life.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Finishing recording the new Cline's mind album that may be released this year.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. We need to work with what We have in hands without any limitations, trying to sound the best we can.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being a musician, is the best lifestyle/career in the world.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was born in a family of musicians. My father passed away when I was 12 and I made him a promise that I would keep the name of our family going on. I started working with music when I was 16.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I think every artist would be amazing to work with because each one has their own way to express their music. I can't list just one.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Try to understand what the songs needs the most, the motives that leads to any melodic lines You may add.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock music, Funk music, Soul music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Composing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like trying to express all the feelings I have for that specific song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I try to visualize the song in my mind and try to feel how the melodic lines should be connected. I take some time to have inspiration and when I find the right notes, I record it.

A: Normally I'm contacted to record guitar solos or guitar parts for their songs.
